While they're nice suits I always think they look too small, like the button is straining to fit the model sometimes. Also, when I think that I would look sexier in half them then the male models. WELL.

I don't how good I'd look in those suits, I have pretty broad shoulders.

You do know they're custom tailored to fit you right? And you can have them modify the cut of it?

Yeah Dim it would appear that they do a "conservative cut" which would sounds like it'd be way more towards your alley.

Tom, thanks heaps. So many choices!

EDIT: and while I'm here and to stop from cluttering up the other thread I wore my fancy boots (the one Tom will some day combust me for) and now my ankle hurts like crazy. On the other hand about 7 people told me that I looked righteous. Is that enough for rigor? Am I scientifically proven to be sexy?

I don't actually like any of those suits.  They all look like someone pulled them out of an uncle's wardrobe and thought "heh, I'm gonna wear this to the pub.  it'll be a hoot."  I would not pay "starting from $443" (USD) for one of those shitty suits.  That translates to about $650 AUD.  I am sure you can get an actual, for-real good suit here in Australia for about that and wouldn't have to rely on self-measuring and fucking around with overseas postage and all that shit.  Oh also, it would look good.

Those suits are okay, not worth ordering from overseas, however.

I'm not seeing anything wrong with the suit per sé. The dude just kind of has an awkward stance and the shoes are too distracting. Cool, but distracting. The suit is damn fine, though.

I see nothing wrong with that? Keep in mind that the style of suit is an "ivy sack." In fact I might as well say in advance that the only suit on that page that I do not like is the double-breast because it is too dang boxy, and the hang of the jacket doesn't really make sense with the tapered pants.

EDIT: Although once again that could be because of the guy's awkward stance, cos it seems to look slightly better in the bottom shot.

I think those are just not very good pictures of the suits.

They're from Payless! We've gotten that style two years in a row, in different patterns/textures, so maybe they will come back again this year. I will watch for them and let you know if they reappear!

I had them in a textured crocodile print sort of thing, brown and shiny and sooooo beautiful. Then I stepped on a crack in the sidewalk and the heel broke. It is possible that tears were shed that day.

think about all the shit you can actually do for close to five hundred dollars and then weigh that against an alright suit that if you're even remotely awkward as a human being will just amplify that (see: all these pictures)

if i could i would rock a suit SO HARD, ALL THE TIME but despite constantly joking about being a little boy i make a pretty lousy dude on account i am only about five feet tall and i have some pretty distinct lady curves going on. in almost all occasions, boy clothing on me is incredibly awkward and unflattering. it blows! and i really hate girl clothing so this is kind of why i never try to venture anywhere past t-shirts and jeans.

I am seeing so many young guys with superb-fitting suits in Tokyo! It's awesome to just observe, but then you hang out with people from school in suits, and realize that aw, the ratio of awesome-fitting to slouchy will change drastically once you get home.

Yeah ben these suits are about the same quality as a 1500 dollar australian suit. Heck as far as I know from Jason they have never had a dissatisfied customer in the end, out of hundreds of dudes who are the kind of guys who get their shirts custom tailored to their exact measurements and hunt down 500 dollar pairs of formal shoes and know about the correct way to wear a pocket square.

And hey guys look, some pictures that are not of just the two tailors who are not remotely models.

Yeah see I meant to ask if the suit you wore at OzCon was a Thick As Thieves joint, because that was pretty much exactly what I want to get i.e; a verrry fitted 60's-style black 1 button.

Fuck that, absolutely post pictures.

Cross dressing is rad, and gender lines are not fixed.

I'm considering starting to wear makeup, in subtle amounts, as a fashion thing. Could be a terrible idea, could be awesome.

I do not really know how to put on makeup though.

Dearest Kieffer, I wish you lived close enough that we would actually be friends and trade makeup tips. I was about to ask if you're going for generic dude "I am wearing eyeliner JUST IN CASE you can't tell" look and then I read what I said and who it was to. If you don't have any, go for Sephora products. My word but they are infinitesimally better than any other makeup.

To be blunt though is the only time I've ever seen dudes rock the makeup is when they are androgynous enough where it doesn't look forced. If have really masculine features, like you do, it's really fucking hard to pull it off without just looking like a theater major. You're one of the few I have faith in though.

My incredible masculinity has always been the major barrier between me and my desire to wear pretty dresses. If I just wasn't so damn manly I would be the prettiest girl.

I honestly don't know if I want to fuck with eyeliner at all, it's a little too garish, the only way I'd do it is if I got good enough to do death-of-the-endless style designs on the corners. I'm thinking probably just a little bit of foundation, maybe blush if I'm psyched, but a very neutral color, some subtle, possibly metallic eyeshadow, and mascara. Definitely mascara.

Good god do I love mascara.

Ooo, and maybe nail polish. I kinda like nail polish, haven't rocked it since I was like 15. I basically plan to start incredibly subtle, and if it works, gradually get bolder with colors and amounts. I could see eyeliner, nail polish, fuck, maybe even lip color, coming in like 6 months down the line. The lip color would have to be soooooo fucking subtle though, otherwise I will look like a harlot

Ok so the paper tells me K-Rudd's stimulus plan is going ahead so I will be receiving 900 dollars from the gub'ment which I intend to put down as part of payment on a suit. I mean a really nice suit. I want to go into a place and have an Italian man measure me up and look me up and down with his thumb and index finger stretched up his chin like a hairy dang ol' V while he says "hmm" while he decides how he's going to rock this. Because I owe no actual nice clothing this will probably be a general all purpose suit for going out drinking in and also for court dates and visiting my sick grandmother.

My questions are legion:

1) How much am I expecting to spend here? I have 900 buckos oz from the government, but I've got a bit of cash tucked away, enough to go as high as say, 2000 but I'd rather find a happy medium. I remember being told a few years back that you'd better be prepared to drop 15 hundos for a tailored suit but am not sure if this is still relevant or even if it was accurate in the first place.

2) In terms of colours I'm pretty settled on Oxford Grey for a couple of reasons. (going for martinis with emilio, as white as a dude like me could ever hope to pull off in a suit, general classiness) although I'm open to persuasions, but other question is, what colours and patterns do I want on the shit that I'm going to buy with it? I guess the guy at the tailors would be able to tell me but I'd rather have an idea of what I'm looking at so I can shop around and see whats available. What colour shirt? What colour/pattern tie? What hell colour shoes does a dude wear with an oxford grey suit and do you think I can even pull it off?

Here is a photo for reference! (I am not quite this red)

Kieff: I think something that could be fun is like bronze eyeshadow on the inside corner of the eyes, like the duct areas near the nose and black mascara. I think that would looks really good since you have really blue eyes. Don't do blush, though. Blush is something that is just too feminine and I don't think even you could pull it off. Like, I think it would just come off looking gay instead of fashion forward or experimental.  Also, I think you should rock lipstick. I'd like to see it. I dunno about nailpolish though...I don't know if it would look good with the type of hands/fingernails you have. But I mean, hey, if you try, I wanna see! Also, I'm a big fan of Rimmel makeup, Sephora, like Brittany said is also quite good.

Yeah and I was really drunk when I wrote that; I meant to say they're infinitely better. And yeah, bronzer in general would look awesome. If you just put on foundation without blush or bronzer most people look kind of dead. Instead of a pinky blush, just sweep some bronzer on the top of your cheekbones, down your nose, a little on your chin, and above your eyebrows.

And re: mascara, I'm obsessed with the stuff. The best kind I have ever found to make my lashes look huge and fat and long and almost fake (I like big ol' mod eyelashes) is some stuff from Avon called SuperShock. LashExact (in the purple tube) is also pretty good.

Edit for two pictures. Mascara really does rule. I did it real quick, no curling and I guess I didn't clean it up very well either afterward.

What about orgasmic chemistry.

I can expand the definition of that if anyone wants to roll around to my Fortress of Love.
