@ Sam: the 9011 are the ones I would get. The cap on the first one is too weird, I'm generally not a fan of those.

Man I like blue and black on anyone. I do not understand this thing where they don't go together. Do you mean black and navy? Because if you wear black and navy together it looks like you were trying to match and just didn't have enough light to see by.

Also, be wary of steel toe boots and make sure you might actually need the protection for what you will be doing. You might think that having steel toe boots for horseback riding and stable work would be great, but actually I witnessed a girl get her foot stepped on and one of her metatarsals break. She had a horrible cut across the top of the arch of her foot, too, where the end of the steel toe in her boot ripped into her skin. She had to get like ten stitches. I really like steel toe boots, but I have worked with horses for years and years and been stepped on hundreds of times with no broken bones or anything, and I would say that I would never wear steel toe boots in this context. So you have to know what you will be doing.

I was told I should go to this store downtown to get fitted, but I would have to buy a bra from them as well. The price tag? At least $140. That is not happening, my current bras are not that uncomfortable or ill-fitting.

The American sizing confuses me, but I could probably find a dozen online guides or so (with "our" sizing), in a couple of minutes.

It's not that bad, really. You measuring around your ribcage, that gives you the band size. Then you go around ribcage+boobs. The difference between the two generally dictates your cup size, 1"=A, 2"=B, etc. This method isn't always perfect, but it gives you a good starting place.

Yeah, it didn't really work for me. According to the video I fit perfectly into my 13 year old sisters bras. I know my boobs aren't the biggest, but come on! I don't think I would be able to breathe wearing those.

Well, you're certainly insanely attractive.

Nice coat, too.  Necklace seems a bit much though.  Boots also don't seem to QUITE fit.  They're nice, but a bit too, I don't know, pointy?  Tight?  High?  Something.  I think maybe they'd look more fitting with that skirt if your legs were bare.

That video Katie posted is pretty nice, but it definitely doesn't cover every problem. A lot of the problems I have with my boobies are apparently opposite problems. One thing is I so have spillage. Major spillage. But then the sides of my bra (the cup part closest to my armpit) bags. I think mine are closer than average or something. And you can very rarely get cute contour bras in my size, and a lot of the ones that are there are minimizers.

The perfect bra is something I don't think I'll ever find. Maybe I'll go into there though to get sized... though I have at several other places too which never helped.

Fatty, I love your boots. It seems like a headband or barrettes would add to your outfit.

I think you look great as you are, but I am not a fashion expert.

I have problems with bras, beacuse most places don't do small enough back sizes with large enough cup sizes, so I have to compromise and end up with uncomfortable and insanely expensive bras

That's a point... any ideas on how to make myself not look top heavy? Particularly dress styles that would suit someone who isn't very tall but has a fairly large bust. Short skirts do not work on me. Not that I'm being picky or anything... I have very few dresses that really suit me (I have very few at all).

Eli, don't get me started on the whole tights-as-pants thing. It's so terrible! Where I live, there's this whole fashion of girls wearing tights with really big, baggy sweaters/jackets and their hair all big and swooshed to one side (and usually dyed (or naturally) blonde). It looks freaking terrible. I don't know this is a purely Norwegian phenomenon or if the plague is in other parts of the world as well?

The worst thing is, my best friend is a sort of... round girl, and she does the tights thing (though thankfully not with the other stuff), and sorry, it just does not work! They emphasize the wobble and it's not pretty. I'd feel mean to tell her not to do it, though. =K I mean, she's all curvy and she can really work it with the right outfit, but the tights just make her look, well, fat, which she's really not. Am I the only one who thinks you should realize what you have and work with that and also realize what you can't wear and accept it? =K How do I tell my friend to stop it with the tights without sounding like a bitch?

Haha, wow, I could tell you were a fellow Norwegian even before you mentioned Norway. I haven't seen anyone from another country dressed like that. It's a horrible, horrible way to dress, nobody can pull it off, and too many tries to.

About your friend, I don't think it's bitchy to tell her as long as you do it nicely. It's kind of like telling someone they have something in their teeth... You don't really want to, but as long as you don't they'll walk around for the rest of the day looking like an idiot. It's for their own good, right?

I guess you don't have to say the tights makes her look fat, just tell her it doesn't suit her as well as, say, a nice pair of jeans or a skirt. Good luck!

Hokay fashion thread! What do you think of men's vests on ladies? I picked this up at value village (consignment shop) for under two bucks the other day, but I can't decide if it's Annie-Hall cute, or a bit dated-hipster.

My mirror is filthy. It's very fitted when buttoned, must have been for a pretty little dude.

I actually really like that. I have a menswear inspired vest, but mine is actually made for a woman, so it's shorter.

Also, I like the way it looks. I've worn purple tights with my black boots, a black large slouchy sweater, and some bigger jewelry. I like it. A lot.

Tights as pants works well with larger, bulkier jackets etc. It balances them out nicely.

Redglasscurls, menswear inspired jackets are coming in pretty popular, and look pretty nifty. I'm not too sure about vests, however. When I see a vest, unless it's done remarkably well, I usually think they look dated and kinda weird. The fact that it's tan probably doesn't help too much.

On second thoughts, have you tried it with something underneath that covers your shoulders? Perhaps a loose, vaguely dressy shirt could work wonders.

Were they acting students?  the acting student girls at our uni love that look. Fuck me it is the most unattractive thing.  Tights are fantastic with skirts.  No scratch that, I actually despise footless tights, the make everyone look stumpy.  Stockings are a whole other ballgame of awesome though.  My addiction in fact.

Nice coat, too.  Necklace seems a bit much though.  Boots also don't seem to QUITE fit.  They're nice, but a bit too, I don't know, pointy?  Tight?  High?  Something.  I think maybe they'd look more fitting with that skirt if your legs were bare.

If you wish to give constructive criticism, can you please be a bit more articulate?

Manda - I LOVE the vest. It is a great colour for you, but you need to match it with the right colours. I agree that you need sometihng underneath that maybe covers your shoulders and is a bit longer. In fact, something a bit flowy would be a good contrast under a buttoned vest.

I really dislike footless tights - espeically teamed with flats or thongs. I agree that they make your legs look cut off. Footless tights should remain in the domain of ballet dancers and drama students. Same goes for pants which are equally tight. Each to their own, I guess.

I approve of tights as pants.  And while Im at it I approve of tights with 80s sweaters.  Maybe its the hipster douche boner they inspire but I think its particularily hot.  Esp since it takes a semblance of confidence to pull off and is very 'right now', and in my not-so humble opinion, fashion like music is best suited to specific times in your life.

i actually like leggings.  it means i can go out with a skirt that is too short to wear on its own, and it's a way to cover up hairy legs in the summer when it's just too hot for pants.  i also think that leggings + extra-long shirt/very short dress can look cute.  what really pisses me off is, as people mentioned, those girls who wear them as pants.  girls who wear normal length shirts/sweaters with leggings have obviously missed the point.  your crotch never ever be showing!  if it is, you're doing it wrong!

Oh, man, yes.

I find it so much easier to find good-looking outfits for boys/men than outfits for ladies that I could and would wear myself. It's annoying, and it actually has me considering buying more "women's magazines", but I am poor.

Oh god. I'm really digging the first picture. But I'm a bit worried that a lot of those articles won't translate well to most men's figures. Tall and lean guys have all the good clothes.

Also, when I say I tend to wear just tights. I mean like this (in the first picture, the second picture is just to show my damn awesome jacket): http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj156/Sneakers_King/tightsandjacket.jpg

Although that shirt is being worn more like a dress like that, I couldn't find my really huge off the shoulder sweater, which I usually wear with a side pony tail, and sometimes a large belt.

Fuck yeah 80s plz

Also, I must reiterate how much I like that guys sweater jacket dealio in the first picture.

LIZ OF THE FORUM

I usually agree with you in this thread but there is not a singe thing I would wear in that article and I want to punch the model in the nose.

EDIT: Actually on closer inspection I'd wear the wool coat/jacket thing he's wearing in the left picture in the second row down, which I didn't notice at first since the model is basically obscuring the fucking clothes.

I've been looking for a jacket like the one in the first picture for a while. OSAP supports my fashion choices.
