It's authentic from the Belgian military in WWII, I got it from some random army surplus online store. I don't normally wear military stuff, but this was too great to pass up.

I've always wanted one of those Soviet rabbit-fur-lined hats.

I assume they wouldn't be stylish at all, but they just look cool, and it gets cold here in WI in winter so I'd have opportunity to wear it.

I like it a little, and it's what they are using now. I'll try to find the old style, or maybe some Crye Multi-Cam.
You should get Flecktarn. This stuff: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Flecktarn.jpg

I think they have coats, I don't have one, but I would assume they do. If not, well, anything but ACU, that looks like you are wearing camo for use in the oatmeal peninsula.

edit: Oh my God... I found a camo jacket that extends into a trench coat-ish thing, that is awesome. Don't much like the pattern it is in though, alpenflage is a bit too bold of a pattern for my taste.

I have to cast another vote for empire waists not being ALWAYS bad. I actually usually hate them on dresses, but I found this one and I think it looks pretty cute.

Shirts though? Skip it unless it's cut like Eed's up there where the stomach bit is fitted, not all floppy and maternity.

I think empire waists can look either really good or really bad, depending mostly on whether or not they get narrower under the boobs, and then on how "flowy" the fabric is. If they just hang down from the boobs, then yes, they cover any potential extra flabbyness, but they also often make people look pregnant. But in cases like the dress two posts above and Edith's shirt, they look pretty damn good, and they can also help hide some belly without making you look pregnant.

Peacoats are pretty much always yes. Outfit-neutral, which is great when you have to wear it all winter, and they are classy

RE:The Adidas? No. They look like painted up versions of those terrible white+stripes ones everyone and their brother wore in 2000.

pamplemousse- Yes, for sure. I love peacoats even though I haven't been able to get my hands on one yet.

ThisIsOriginal- I am not really a fan of sneakers in general, so I don't really like those, but I guess they are better than an all-white pair, so you could do worse.

It's hard for me to tell what the orange one will look like with someone wearing it, but as for the purple one, I am not a fan of the shoulder things.

I found this one and I think it looks pretty cute.

Well I guess you are not very fashionable then, Joe.

And I love dresses! I only have three that I can really just wear, and one for formal occasions, but I would love to get more. Unfortunately both of the dresses i posted are super-expensive designer stuff that I will never be able to afford.

I like the one on the right, even though my initial reaction was a little negative because I thought I saw cuffs on the leaves that would make it hug your amrs, but on second look, no, it is nice. I like the cut of the blouse part and the skirt is pretty cool too, I like the buttons going all the way down, and the waste-line looks like it would be flattering on a lot of people.

The dress on the left is a little on the... interesting? Side? I would have to see someone with an actual chest wear it instead of an anorexic man, but I am going to go out on a lim and say that the dress is not going to look good on anyone. Not to mention the top looks like it is meant to bind the boobs... is that intentional?

Yes, it is interesting. And that is why I like it! I have plenty of simple clothes already, so I need some more interesting pieces. It is called fashion. Most boys just don't get it.

Meh, I didn't mean to imply that I only like simple clothes on women, but interesting in this instance meant "I think that that dress is ugly as fuck but you said you like it so I don't want to say 'that dress is ugly as fuck'".

Man, this is kind of turning into a purple dress hate-fest, but I don't care for it that much either. I actually don't mind the top bit, but I think the bubble-dress style band at the bottom would automatically equal huge butt for anyone with curves.

The red/orange dress is really classy and could probably look pretty pin-up girl hot!

Liz, I love that purple dress where did you find it omnomnom.

First through NotCouture, then here upon further research. It also comes in stripes, though I don't like that style nearly as much. And a top!

Manda, I see what you mean about the bottom. If I were to actually get the dress I would have a tailor remove the hem so it would be more A-line.

Nooo, the back is the best part. You really are fashion challenged.

Oh, I suppose I should do something for the dudes out there as well. Liz would love to see you wearing any of the following:

Basically I think dudes should be wearing more sweaters. Looove sweaters. Also, last two male models,

I totally agree about the sweaters. Minus the stripy hoodie-thingy, didn't like that one. Or the pants on the two first models (but I guess those weren't the point either). But other than that; yes!

And I forgot to add earlier, but I really loved the black peacoat pictured earlier. Wish I had the body to pull of something like that!

i like sweaters but those are all pretty awful and i honestly wouldn't be caught dead in them.

well, i guess i could be caught dead in them since i'd be dead and you sickos could dress me up however you like then.

EDIT: the first one actually isn't that bad. the non-sweater, brown thing with lots of pockets. i might wear that if it was a gift or something. i'd never buy it.

Yayyy Robbie for wearing a sweater. It would look better with dark jeans and a lighter shirt, I think, but it is a sweater.

This was a dark period in my life, when I would wear absolutely anything with absolutely anything else, because I was living in a country where everyone else did the same thing, and I just wanted to fit in. That's not an excuse, just a reason.

I grew up knowing that cardigans were worn by boring middle-aged men with pipes and carpet slippers, and swore I would never, ever wear one (and I haven't) - so I find it odd seeing young men wearing them now, though I'm beginning to get used to it.

Of the tops shown, I would wear the striped hoody and the blue sweater; the first jacket is meh, and I don't like the others.  Of course, whether you'd want to see me in them is quite another matter!

Man, I don't want to sound rude or anything but I find most of everyone's fashion choices really boring. Personally I prefer this kind of stuff

For Men

This - I own this

Or this - I want this.

This, but without the bondage straps

This

And these - I own these

For Ladies

This or this

this or this

and these

NB: I would have put pictures in thise post but I didn't want to make untoward sexual advances at your bandwith.

inspired by the greatcoat posted earlier, i have done a little search on ebay and found this:

should I buy it? it's only 20 euros!

It is a coat of the GDR navy with rank insignia of a Kapitän zur See (= Captain, OF-5)
