Wash your jeans less often and inside out. The decrease in friction on the denim will allow for the zipper to maintain strength longer. Or just buy jeans at places that are not old navy.

Man I wash my jeans whenever they get more stretched out a bit, i.e. whenever they stop framing my ass optimally, which is like every 2 or 3 weeks or so. When I was working in a barn I was wearing two pairs every week and washing on the weekend because they got so gross, but otherwise they don't need to be washed that much.

You can put jeans in the dryer! It is ok! Animal Ghosts is precisely right about washing them inside out, and you should leave them inside out when you put them in the dryer. The key is to not dry them completely. When you take them out, seams and hems and pockets and wherever else there are several layers of fabric should still be at least a little damp. Hang them up or lay them over a vent or a heater or something to finish drying. Feel free to wear them still damp, too, I guess, but the fibers are more likely to be permanently stretched if you do (as in, they won't shrink back up next time you wash them).

The problem with putting jeans in the dryer is that getting them completely dry usually means you have over-dried them. Denim is 100% cotton, or at least it usually is, and extreme heat makes cotton shrink up. The mistake people make is noticing that the waistband is still damp and throwing their jeans back in the dryer, even though the legs of the jeans are almost definitely all dry, which means that the only other physical change that the heat and the motion of the dryer can make on the denim is to start contracting the fibers of the dry parts.

I've never had a problem with jeans from Old Navy. Ever.

My Old Navy jeans are 100% indestructible.

I also never put my jeans in the dryer, nor my other clothes for that matter. I hang everything to dry.

I actually live in a section of the world that does not have an old navy. but  I don't see how the zipper breaking is affected by the denim?

Also, guys. Jeans take forever to dry out of the drier, and I simply do not have anywhere that I can let them hang dry. It's too cold outside like 80% of the year to do it outside and I do not have a very large house and my family would not appreciate running into my jeans hanging in the bathroom. Besides, then they don't shrink back up to optimal ass-itude, they stay stretched out which I don't like.

Suspenders + big titties = rad

As long as you don't expect them to function, it hurts when you move and they cut in, however, standing still you look rad.

But I guess I could trudge after Animal Ghost's friend and Liz for a day and just buy the things they tell me look good, they both seem to know what is going on in the world of fashion.

Exactly, that's what I meant. As long as you just follow their advices and remember that your opinion doesn't count, it will be rad! You will be like their lump of clay, and they will sculpt you into whatever they want. God, I'm sorry I never went shopping with you, I've failed at being a good sister (then again, I don't know if I'm that good finding guys clothes).

The jeans and sweater are my favorites in that post. The other two are things I am sort of trying to like because I think they could look really good.

I will try some more. The jacket and last sweater I am not entirely sure of, but once again they are things that could look good if done well, or just on the right person.

These are really the only ones I can find with a noticeable flare to them. I don't really like the faded wash but the style and fit seem pretty good anyways. Then there are these which claim to be flared but I can't really see it at all. Sorry dudes, I guess it is just not meant to be.

What is up with the high back on those jeans?  When I was looking for jeans in Sydney I was having the same problem.  Every fucking pair looked like some kind of fucking farmer's jeans from the back.  So goddamned awful.

edit: I wound up getting a pair of Lee Riders "Heritage Edition" when I was in Japan because they looked about 250% better than anything I'd found in Australia.  Can't remember if they were straight or boot cut.  I think straight, but not sure.
