If it's any consolation I also want them but can't have them. The first sweater is actually relatively cheap when compared to the rest of the stuff, $68 or something. Oh and the silver tank is only $32. The rest are pretty pricey, though. Sorry!

Man there is just something about bodices and tops with those seams under the boobs that start at the cleavage and angle down towards the waist as they approach the armpit. It makes your boobs look saggy and not as nice. Otherwise it is (in my opinion) cute, but otherwise unremarkable.

The lady's tits look saggy in the top-left pic Liz posted because the lady has saggy tits, not because of any kind of fashion faux pas. (she is a common model on that site)

Well, yes, but I figured that was obvious. There's nothing disguising it, though, on that shirt. The thing about the dress is that it is cute, but I think the seams thing is kind of a visual minimizer technique, too, so on girls with tiny boobs it makes them look a little droopy AND smaller.

I would still probably check out that chick if I passed her in that dress on the street. Maybe I would even whistle. (It is really funny to watch people get confused when a girl does that.)

More colours, but subtly. I'd take the aforementioned accessories and make them red, so maybe a red belt or... no, a red belt. Perhaps one of those irritating hats that might be called beanies, if you can pull it off sufficiently suavely to not look like a bad boy band singer. And you look too nervous! Confidence is sexy. (I like your hair.)

Maybe try some darker jeans, that are maybe a little bit less flare-y near the bottom? Also; sweaters! Like has been mentioned lots of times in this thread.. Something as simple as a nice black or grey v-neck sweater can look really good, if you don't want a lot of colors. This guy in my class whose style I totally admire almost only wears black, grey, white and sometimes brown (plus dark jeans, so I guess dark blue as well), but he does it so well and looks all kinds of awesome.

(Also, flag on the floor? :o I think the girl scouts/my mom has succeeded in teaching me to treat it with respect, because it was the first thing I noticed :p)

Skinny jeans will not change your life, and are totally over as a trend any way. I would consider something slightly more slim fit though, you aren't fat, so don't wear baggy clothes. If you have a body that is at all nice, flaunt it.

I like the jacket, the T-shirt isn't bad but you could be layering better, and the jacket is nice but you should probably get it a little smaller. The loose fitting jacket isn't doing anything for your profile, especially with the loose jeans and shirt. Shoes are nice, but get a better haircut.

This makes no sense. People still wear skinny jeans constantly and they are more popular than ever, that's why they aren't cool. You waited so long you missed the chance to do it while it was interesting and are just wearing tight pants.

Yeah skinny jeans are definitely not my type.

What? You haven't even tried them! I'm not talking about the super skinny jeans, but the more fitted-without-being-clingy ones. I know it would suit you. Don't be ashamed of your body, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. If you feel insecure about being too skinny, remember that big unfitted clothes will make you look skinnier than you are.

if it makes you feel any better, i have no idea what's cool or not and i like to think i dress pretty well for who/what i am.

for example: i can't even wear baggy jeans, since there's usually more air than fabric touching my skin, i always have to look down and make sure i'm still wearing pants because i feel almost naked. so i usually go for something that's a little more snug so i can always be sure that i have pants on without having to check.

god that sounds alot less stupid in my head.

Fashion is an art form. A friend of mine once said "I don't paint, I just get dressed every morning." If you are wearing the things that everyone else is wearing, you aren't much of an artist. When things that were at one point your form of self expression become co-opted by the masses, it takes away the individual expression of your style, defeating the purpose of fashion entirely. While yeah, you can say that you were doing it before it was cool, it doesn't change the fact that your trendsetting has become irrelevant. Fashion works because people move on from the things that have become common and do something new that doesn't yet have a box around it. You need people like me to figure out what you're going to be wearing in six months.

I guess this is my standard outfit type 2.

clothes

As you can see, when the pockets are not big enough I do not know where to put my hands.

I like this a lot more. The jeans are a better wash and a much better fit for your figure. However, that shirt... I dunno man the whole "plaid-cowboy-shirted-hipster-scenester-lumberjack" look is so completely overdone at this point that I would branch out if I were you. Like, it is a good shirt, but maybe it is time for something new.

So guys I do not usually approve of the idea of sweaters as dresses but.

Also I don't wear strapless things generally, but.

I don't usually like strapless things on anyone because I notice girls tend to droop their shoulders inward and look a little bit uncomfortable because maybe it feels like the dress might fall down and somehow slightly worse posture will help it stay up or something. However, even though the model is doing the shoulder thing too, that is still so cute.

I think it's the fact that the strapless dress is so fitted that keeps it from being a trainwreck.

For example, check out this thing I found on a quick GIS.

It's formless enough as it is even with the lady trying to pose for the picture but it's passable. However, add in drooping shoulders and you may as well start wearing garbage bags.

Also, I hate babydolls and ill-advised empire waists badly enough as it is, but by going strapless you can take one even further out into eyesore territory.

Again, just imagine how extra bad this will look once the model stops posing her heart out.

The next abomination is so terrible that I'm not even going to try using it as an example for anything, I just stumbled upon it while searching for the previous entries and was dumbfounded by the possibilities this thing has when slouching.

a) You forgot to mention that the second dress you posted is atrocious because it also has one of those stupid bubble hems.

b) Remember that it is not necessarily empire waists you are talking about. You are right with the babydoll hating, though.

c) I actually was reading a celebrity gossip magazine sometime last year at my retail job (it was the only thing in the break room with words in it) and I think I saw Hillary Duff in one of those dresses like the third picture. It took me a while, but I finally realised the [only] appeal of that style, which is that it pretty much looks like a bath towel, and is thus really leading and makes it easy to imagine the chick naked. That doesn't mean it doesn't look horrible, but I think that is why people wear them.

My response to C is similar. Someone wearing that is bound to have a nice body (otherwise how could they stand to be seen in public in that?) and there's the appeal.

What I'm getting at is that dresses in that style are pleasing to the eye because that dress is sort of the fashion equivalent of a shibboleth where if you see that dress you are looking at an attractive person.

ADDITION: The biologist in me can't help pointing out that this is the same explanation as why ridiculously large antlers evolved. If you see an animal with huge elaborate antlers, you must be looking at a really strong buck because they're the only ones who can get away with huge elaborate antlers.

What I'm getting at is that dresses in that style are pleasing to the eye because that dress is sort of the fashion equivalent of a shibboleth where if you see that dress you are looking at an attractive person.

My friend Nads saw the picture of that dress and made a good point. He said, "you know, it might make me imagine them naked, but I like to choose who I am going to imagine naked. What if she is Paris Hilton? I don't want to have to stab my brain."

Also it is unfortunate that only attractive people wear them because it means they don't really know how to dress themselves or have any sense of what "attractive" is.

Hey everyone, I need to buy some new bookshelves. When I get back from Ikea and put them together you're all invited to the bookshelf launch party.

When things that were at one point your form of self expression become co-opted by the masses, it takes away the individual expression of your style, defeating the purpose of fashion entirely. You need people like me to figure out what you're going to be wearing in six months.

Oh shit clothes

Man I do not know what everyone's talking about, you look pretty great in both outfit types. Type 2 showed that you really have no reason to not wear more fitting clothes.

If you're not keen on skinnies you should at least try boot cut jeans. They will not make you look/feel like a complete woman, unlike skinnies. Plus, boots! Boots are a great shoe type that look fucking class with casual shirts.

Jeans, I think you are a rather dashing dresser as well. I never thought there was anything wrong with the way you dressed. Also, I love your hooks. Haha very awesome.

Also, everyone should at least try bootcuts. I love them quite a bit, and I think most of my jeans are bootcut.
