I want to buy some boots, but I have a small problem. Due to a childhood spent on pointed toes(I walked on the tips of my toes always when I was a child), and a love of biking, I have pretty large calf muscle. Where might I be able to buy some boots that fit around my large calves?

Man childhood tip-toers are coming out of the woodwork recently... I've heard of a lot of girls who did it when they were young recently, including myself.

But a lot of footwear stores should have extended calf sizing... Famous Footwear I know for sure does. When I did a search for extended calf boots, I found you can search for that through Macy's. Another option depending on your style and how affected you are by a fatty stigma is Torrid's boot selection. It's not "extended calf" really, but the calves are cut way bigger... since it's a plus size store. You could look into stretching the leather in a regular size boot as well so long as you have a good shoe repair place.

Boot fits are such a varied and personal thing, I don't think you're going to find a shop for people with larger calves. I think you need to pay attention to the type of boots that are likely to fit you. For example, boots that go to the knee or half way up the calf may not fit you, espcially ones with zips or buckles. I'd say you'd definitely want to try the scrunched top pull-on boots and ones with flexible lace-up tops.
It also depends on the size of your ankle comparatively. If your ankle is much skinnier than your calf, you will find yourself in shoes which are too loose at the ankle.
I'd say boots slightly higher than the ankle might be better than say, knee high. It also depends if you're going for girly girly or chunky punk boots. Chunky punk boots are likely to come with a more uniformly large ankle/calf width, wheras girly stilleto heels are likely to be very narrow at the ankle. I think you might be able to find something in between, but range of styles is a limiting factor.
Stay away from anything that will look really tight, shiny leather or vinyl, go for casual loose boots.

They may work for people with big calves, but I have to say that I hate saggy scrunch-top boots. Hate them. I have never seen anyone make them look good, or like anything other than the fact that they look like they're too big and fell down.

A question for girls, or gay guys I suppose.

I was recently in a play and therefore had to put on stage makeup and I was surprised by the number of girls in the cast who commented something along the lines of "Guys in eyeliner are hot" "guys should wear eyeliner more often" ect ect.

This wasn't actually something I was planning on doing but I'm curious if my cast-mates were just odd or if this is a commonly held thought that is simply kept in for fear of seeming to have a thing for emoboys.

I had the same thing when I was in a play. All the girls were saying something along the lines of how I looked so good with eyeliner on.
I think its just a drama girl thing.

Eyeliner on guys is a really difficult thing to pull off. Most of the time it looks completely silly, and I tend not to take the guy seriously then. However, when a guy can pull it off I am smitten. But only a few guys can pull it off.

But then again, the last few guys I have dated have been vaguely goth. And if you are vaguely goth, you can probably pull it off well, but even then it is hit or miss.

Example of eyeliner on a guy looking good.

I will steal a better picture from this guy later. But he is one of the very few people I have ever met who can pull eyeliner off well. Of course, he looks good while dressed as a mine, so he can probably pull off anything.

I dunno, I don't really think that he can pull it off, at least from that picture. I have never worn anything but stage makeup though, so I can't say I have the experience necessary to make a real recommendation one way or the other on the subject. Plus, I'm not really down with the androgenous or boyish look; I've always been kind of annoyed that I'm so boyish looking myself, really, despite having been told I'm fairly cute as often as anyone else.

I used to think I didn't like makeup, until I realized that the girls I found attractive were wearing makeup and I just couldn't tell. So it's not that I don't like makeup, I just don't like to notice it.

This also means that you and Harry are going to have to make up for the less hirsute gentlemen at OzCon by being extra beardy.

Rain boots are so damn adorable it doesn't matter if they make your legs looks thinner or thicker.

On this advice alone, I bought that pair I was considering, and they arrived in the mail today:

The boy insisted I try them on with my polka dot dress.  I think it kind of looks like someone threw up polka dots all over me.  Or maybe like I was wearing all red and walked under a building they were painting, and one of the painters accidentally dropped a bucket of white paint, and luckily it had a top, but unfortunately the top had a bunch of holes in it.  Basically, what I'm trying to say is that I'd never intentionally wear this outfit out of the house.  I do like the boots, though--too bad the forecast predicts sun the rest of the week.

My college is in the upper midwest and suffers from ridiculous amounts of snow and ice storms. The past two years I attempted to get by in basic chucks... that was not a bright idea. I need winter boots. They need to have good enough traction so that I don't fall and not cost too terribly much. Suggestions?
