Chucks in the snow are never a good idea. I got caught in a sudden burst of snow at school one day this spring..I'm pretty sure I actually had negative traction.

Also, Elizzybeth, Those are some really really rad rainboots, I wish I could find some like that but in a matte red. And I think you're silly for thinking they would have made your legs look too big!

I usually wear my chucks in all weather.. But maybe that's the stubborn canadian in me, I hate to admit I'm cold.

Annnnyhow.

I went shopping hooray(I can url post these if anyone minds the images)

In reality this shirt is more brown than navy, but for one reason or another I didn't realize I had the settings on my camera weird until I had taken that shirt off to put on another one.. Anyhow, this was my find of the day, 1.50$ thrift shop

I really needed a pair of heels that I can run around in and walk around in, and not save for just special occasions, I picked these up for 25 at Zelleerrrs (it's like canadian walmart), I have to go back to the shop though, there was no barcode on the size I needed so I brought up another tagged pair, then they accidentally gave me mismatched sized shoes.. rrrr.

Also, aaaaaugh I finally found a sweater I like, sorry for the awkward display (2 bucks at the same thrift shop as above)

And nooow for the advice part, I haven't worn a skirt since I was little, and I found this on the super cheap, however, I have no idea what to wear with it as a top? (Why yes, some of you will find it garishly tacky.) Also, should I go bare legged under this type of skirt? Skirts are one of the few areas that I have no idea what looks nice. It's more for the summer if anything I think

I like all of those, especially that first top.

as for the skirt, I don't think it looks bad with the top you have on with it. Maybe a brown short short sleeve button up would be nice. I used to have a pair of white mid-height pumps and I loved them... then I colored on them with puff paint so now they don't really match anything. But there are flowers growing up the heel and "BRITTANY!" on the sides

I like nail polish on guys, but only, ONLY, if the guy has short nails.  Really short.  I find long nails on men to be an instant turn-off regardless of whether or not they are painted. Ick ick ick.

No polish, ever. Drill King, I actually really like that skirt, so if your fashion sense sucks then mine does too. Definitely a summer/bare legs skirt, you can't really rock the carefree batik look when it requires heavy boots and a sweater. To do it justice, save it till summer and run around barefoot in it with any simple, solid color top you like. Does it have to ride up as high as you're wearing it in order to fit? I've always thought high-waisted things were for people without curve to pretend they had hips, you don't need the help.

IT doesn't have to, but it does ride a bit high. When I wear it lower it really makes my torso look way long, which is already pretty long, so I don't need that either.

However, I'm agreeing with you, it's definately summer, kinda bummed out, I haven't worn a skirt since I was a little girl.

Knit pencil skirts are super super flattering and good for winter, if you want to wear one now while you're all inspired.

Nail polish: I have seen it work well for some people.  I guess you have to have the right look for it and also team it with a decent enough outfit.

Andy: I actually like that first top, it's quite interesting.  The rest isn't really my taste, but the green skirt is not crap.

Nail polish on guys is terrible. I still remember the time I feel asleep in class and a girl managed to do a few of my nails before I woke up. It was a minor disaster.

You are a pretty thin dude, right? I feel like thin hands would just look way feminized with any nail color. I hope your nails are at least short, long nails on dudes is worse than polish on dudes.

Drill King, I absolutely love love love that skirt.  I want it.  I think it is possible to get away with it in the summer, if you have nice heavy tights.

Honestly, every time you post a picture, I want to raid your house and steal your clothes.  However, I don't know wear you live, and I'm not quite the breaking and entering type.   But if you're unfashionable, then I'm hopeless.

2. My mom
3. Anthony Bourdain

I guess it's up to you, Sam.

I tend to dress as weirdly as I can when I'm feeling nervous. Last year, I went to college wearing the oddest combination of clothes fairly regularly because my friends were horrible and sapped my personality out of me. This year my friends (new friends) are rad so I just wear jeans and a t shirt and some trainers.

I would love to dress elegantly but I still look about twelve most of the time so I look stupid. Any advice? (I know I really didn't give enough information here but let's see what happens). Tell me what is elegant, guys.

Actually I am going to say that some of the things anthropologie sells are a little on the frumpy-but-cute side. If you have the right body type for their dresses and stuff they are really cute and look good, but I get the feeling that their designer uses the same model for inspiration and fitting all of their clothes (like maybe it is her daughter or something).

Otherwise I agree.
