Ladies uggs and mens uggs are exactly the same, just different in sizing and colors.

Uggs are like slippers, but warm.  I would wear them out to buy a paper or some milk maybe, but for the most part they are comfortable inside shoes.

I've seen those types of things worn with flat leather sandals with thin straps. Kinda like these shoes? Not quite gladiator but in that direction. None of those have the details I like but they are the type at least.

Thanks Ruyi, that's kind of what I thought. I'll just have to find some nice ones. I've seen heaps of them around, so I am sure I'll be able to find something.

I think we've had this conversation before because I'm getting dejá vú typing this but anyhoo:

I find myself disagreeing with what The Sartorialist thinks is good probably half of the time but I've definitely learned a lot about putting together men's clothing from there, particularly when it comes to all those little details that really make a guy's outfit pop (oh man pocket squares).

The Sartorialist routinely turns up some pretty great stuff (for both sexes! I don't know where you'd get the idea that it's no good for ladies) but I think it's worth taking everything on there with a grain of salt. Essentially I find places like that useful for getting me thinking about cool combinations and ideas, or interesting and new ways to wear something I already have and just generally putting me in a more constructively critical mindset re: style/fashion. Also obviously everybody has a different body and sense of style and something that looks great on one person isn't necessarily universally great.

Also the Sartorialist likes those "formal" shorts (that kind of look like you've taken a pair of chinos and cut them off at the knee) too much and that shit is just dumb.

P.S; ZOMG want these shoes: http://www.gucci.com/us/us-english/us/fall-winter-08/mens-shoes/#0-464511-202729D3VA01066

thisssss.
uggs do not look good with jeans, with sweatpants or with skirts and leggings. they may be comfortable (i wouldn't know personally) but...there is always a more attractive/practical alternative to uggs.

I got a wiggle dress! Yaay!

And you can see the pattern better in this one.

Now I finally have something to wear to weddings.  All the rest of my clothes are too casual or too formal.  This is a cute mix!

Jodie the rockabilly look suits you so well, seriously.

Manda, that new top you got has kimono-style sleeves, in case you were wondering or care.

Someone asking about vests a few pages ago: I personally prefer vests for suits because it makes it look a little classier to me, and maybe a little more like a throwback or a nod to some vintage fashions that shouldn't have died out. Also with a tuxedo I prefer vests because I always look at dudes wearing cummerbunds and think "I wonder what instrument they play in the orchestra". Same goes with bow ties versus ascots and cravats.

Also it is good to know via the Satorialist that people in Rio value such quality details as the French Cuff. Also that their women have excellent taste in shoes, and that some women in Moscow get into fights with their sewing machines and lose.

I tend to like most of the women's fashion in the Sartorialist, but it's hit or miss for me on the men's fashion.

Jodie, that dress is super cute!

I've worn black to weddings and dressed it up with some coloured jewelry. Why? Because I couldn't find anything else that looked decent that WASN'T black. My grandma nearly had a heartattack about it, but no one really cared. I mean, it's just tradition. I've seen people wear black, red and white to weddings, but if you know the bride's dress is going to be white, don't wear all white. I am sure there were people at my mum's wedding who wore white, but her wedding dress was green, so it didn't matter.

I think it is mainly tradition, but I see no reason why you shouldn't wear black. Just dress it up with some coloured jewelry or something.

I am trying to branch out from my ratty-jeans-tshirt-and-sneakers uniform! I think I am doing okay? What do you think QC?
(Oh um I have been sick lately so excuse me if my smile is less than stellar)

I found this dress at a secondhand clothing store for $25! You can't wear anything under it because it is so tight.

Apparently this dress is supposed to be a copy of one Sarah Jessica Parker wore? I don't know anything about her but I bet it looks nicer on me. I like its swishy 50's skirt.

Found this vinyl jacket in a thrift store for twenty bucks. It has some cigarette holes in one arm but other than that it is perfect. Also please note stunningly fantabulous Swedish raw indigo denim.

I found some awesomely battered cowboy boots at a secondhand store! Also I have a new lovely dark leather plaited belt which I adore, and this cute button-down top that I got on a throw-out table for ten bucks.

I know I need to get working on that old 'wardrobe staple' thing that people talk about, I need a new pair of black pointy flats and a plain white button-down shirt. Anything else?

Side-zipped boots (not style, I guess, but more convenient than tying every time), hair dye, camouflage, and I think further continuation of leather jacket development.

Ok so, pinupgirlclothing.com sent me an email telling me about a secret 25% off sale. WHO CAN RESIST? not me thats for sure!  So I bought two more wiggle dresses, and saved $50 Uh-Merrrican, which means free postage basically, so I am rather pleased.

I am always sad when they don't have images of a dress on a tiny model too, because that is how I know what it would look like on me!

But then again, I used to dress like the bastard child of a drug-addled punk and a shrubbery.
