rise against - "appeal to reason"

better than i'd been led to believe, but seems a bit flat after having listened to "revolutions per minute" earlier today...

a day later and it's really growing on me... a LOT.

Gojira - The Way of All Flesh

This is the second listen-through and while I remember it taking me more than three listens to get into From Mars to Sirius, I'm not quite as impressed by this disc as I am by From Mars....  I'm thinking it's just a matter of time, though...

Espers, 'Black is the Color'

It's from their cover EP, The Weed Tree, which is the only thing of theirs I've heard due to laziness in d/l'ing and broke-ness and forgetfulness at the record stores.

Really good stuff, tho, a folk sound with strange drop-ins of electronic insanity.  The first song of theirs I heard was a cover (off this EP) of 'Flaming Telepaths', which has a synth dying loudly with violence for a five minute coda.  After that coda, I rushed from the bookstore across the street to Static Age to get the last copy in the store.
