I cannot decide at all. I have been jumping between :wumpscut:, Man Man and Bob Marley. Don't ask.

Bowie- Golden Years

This album is a lot better when you know it's cheesy on purpose.

I was referring to the song off Station to Station.

Keep trying.

(It was just a Venture Bros. reference, dude.)

And even so, where did you get such information that Station to Station is meant to be cheesy? Bowie admits that it's influenced by funk and soul and German electro and whatnot, but there's nothing to indicate it's "meant to be cheesy." It's also one of his very best albums. I'd say only behind Low. And just ahead of Ziggy.

("On The Beach"-Neil Young.)

I'm not putting it down, the track "Station to Station" itself might my favourite thing Bowie's ever done, but I just read it recently and I find I appreciate the album more approaching it from that direction.

Supposedly Bowie himself put forth some thoughts about the Thin White Duke character he was singing the album as being "an emotionless aryan superman putting forth over the top emotion, ice masquerading as fire".

But then again he's said he doesn't remember recording the album so that's probably bull *shrug*

Oh,and nice choice with "On The Beach"

just finished "the lost broken bones" by an israeli punk band called Useless ID (got a promo of it in the post, surprisingly good for what is essentially fairly generic melodic punk!), and now i'm onto a bit of idlewild, "warnings/promises," their sorta folk-ish album.

I don't know why it took me so long to get to those Peel Sessions but jesus fuck Michael you weren't kidding. The sound is so crisp and filled out. Actually kinda oddly chunky for Gang of Four.

A concert of music from the Evangelion soundtracks.

How sad is that?

(and actually it's less good than the actual soundtracks.)

"once like a spark" by jetplane landing.

great album, a nice post-hardcore mix of helmet, jimmy eat world, and quicksand with some RATM-y riffs.  although i never understood why "there is no real courage unless there is real danger" was put at the end of the album, as it'd make a superb opener.

"Staying Alive" by Cursive, really loud on some old-ass, big headphones.

It is one, if not the, best album closer I have ever heard in my entire lifetime.
