Rusko - Jahova

This song is big.  Like, really big.  If it fell on you, you would probably not survive.  It's seriously fucking massive.

"Homework," by Daft Punk.  This album totally needs to be re-released with a warning label.

It would read Warning: Side effects may include Headbanging, Unc-tssing, and Spontaneous White Boy Dancing.  For erections lasting longer than 4 hours, please consult your doctor.

"lazarus bird" by Burst.

it's gotten to the point in my local HMV that there's so little choice in the metal and rock/pop sections that i went round the whole store and found only two albums i was vaguely interested in hearing (the other being bon iver's "for emma forever ago").  however, being in a more aggressive than dreamy mood, i used my £10 voucher to get the burst album.  having not heard a single song off it.  but being a fan of three of the "recommended" bands on the yellow obi-strip thing (isis, mastodon, the ocean).

and it's fucking awesome.

haha awesome!  i put the FNM cover of war pigs on on the ipod in my mate's car today, and mass singalongage ensued.  then everyone simulatenously went "...the fuck is this?" when edge of the world came on after it!  i love the range of styles that band (not to mention patton's other stuff) could do so well.

I guess it sounds like it was made around the same time as California (even though it was for a film made this year). The soundtrack itself is for a noir crime film, so it fits perfectly.

here's a song from it, and I'll put the soundtrack up on the mf!re thread if i have time today...

I just bought the White Album today, and am listening to it for the first time. I'm now on "Everybody's got something to hide except me and my monkey," which has got to be the best song title ever. Does anyone know if they ever used it in that "Whose line is it anyway" song-titles game?
And it is weird that I'm looking forward to hearing the infamous "Revolution 9"?

that is not cheeky.  in fact, listening to Let It Be (or any Replacements albums for that matter) can be nothing but fucking awesome.  i applaud you sir!

i, however, am reliving my early teens by listening to whiny, nasal pop-punk in the form of new found glory's "sticks and stones."  which is actually a LOT better than i remember it being!

i'm currently listening to a load of random post-rock and post-metal with a view to making a CD for my grandmother, to whom i described said genres as being "a bit like classical music or sometimes subdued jazz, but with rock instruments."  she seemed interested, so i'm gonna see if i can't convert her!

Of Montreal - "Bunny Ain't No Kind Of Rider"

No one wants to dance, they're outside
Smoking cigarettes
Matthew was there, yes
He gave me the eye, saying, "It doesn't kill to try"
Then blue lights all around

Eva, I'm sorry, but you will never have me
To me you're just some faggy girl
And I need a lover with soul power
And you ain't got no soul power
