Dead motherfucking Meadow. I don't know which song, or which album, and I don't care. I am sitting here relaxing for the first time all week.

My roommate and a good portion of my family are very conservative. Whenever I switch on NPR in the car or at the barn, everyone gags and changes it. =\
So, yes, for me it is rather rare.

Listening to: "In Days of Old" Emitt Rhodes

He is essentially Paul McCartney's long-lost musical twin, and he is fantastic.

The new Bell Orchestre [sic] album. Halfway through, it's pretty OK but I'm not enthralled.

Today, I've listened to Songs for the Deaf and Our Endless Numbered Days for the first time.

The first one is conducive to scouring through article databases for dumb journal articles on family problems.  The second one made me want to stop and lie in a meadow.

Oh, well.  At least they were both pretty fuckin' good.

Okay. The time is 4.51 am and I'm still up after being at my friends place working out a solution for a domestic problem. A really big, nasty and uncomfortable problem.

Now hoping some sleep while listening to The New Pornographers - Unguided

...That's pretty much how I feel about now. And all I know is that this sucks.

reading this thread, a thought has just occurred to me... are we allowed to put those "5 most recently listened tracks" last.fm widget things in our signatures on this forum?

I'd say no. Just post about it instead! That way you can get some dialogue potentially moving about it. Outside of that it seems like kind of a dick-wagging thing.

not really, i've got to know several people on other forums after noticing we were into the same bands through those last.fm lists.  but yeah, i see your point - it would kinda kill, or at least damage this thread.

you wanna get your bad self a copy of "heartwork" by carcass.  seriously, the guitars sound like some sort of industrial machinery carving through a cliff-face.  epic heaviness.

Eh.

I'm listening to Dead Meadow's s/t right now, and that feels heavier than Heartwork ever did, despite being a stoner rock album.  Besides, Reek of Putrefaction was better.

There's nothing wrong with linking your last.fm account, and I'd even encourage it! But having a chart with the actual songs pop up in every thread you post in is a bit visually obnoxious, and it doesn't really serve much of a purpose outside of the music forum anyways. The widget is basically an image, after all, and we have rules about that for a reason. Sorry! Link it instead. If people are interested, they'll click, and if they're not they won't.

Look at all these words about something trivial! PLEASE CONTINUE POSTING NORMAL OKAY
