Knee Deep- cky

Some people don't know
Don't know what is wrong
So they're knee deep
Knee deep in sorrow

THAT is all the lyrics for a song that clocks 3:36.

the rest...well, the rest is just awesome.

how HIM got huge, and not this band is beyond me.

this is the only margera(NON bam, bytheway) based music i respect.

"Nothing But The Sun" - Runrig

Fuckers are playing a big show in Scotland soon and I am PISSED I have to miss it. I mean I'd have loved to see this band 10 years ago when they still had Donnie Munro instead of their current singer, but I guess when one decides to run for Parliament, they must really be tired of music.

Kylesa's "Static Tensions" - where having two drummers stops being a gimmick and just fucking slays.

the double-drums have an awesome effect on that album!  either one drummer's lefthanded or they've panned the drums the other way, because the bass drums are both in the middle, and the rest kinda go symmettrically outwards.  total headfuck, but in a good way.  definitely a headphones album too!

Explosions in the Sky

Comparing "Earth is Not a Cold, Dead Place" to "How Strange, Innocence"

I think I like Innocence more. I think I do. "Earth" seems to generally follow the same sort of theme throughout. "Innocence" changes more.

"Knievel Is Evil" by Throat, an Northern-Irish post-hardcore band that broke up about 4 years ago.  They kinda sound like a cross between Clarity-era Jimmy Eat World and Quicksand.

I am exposing myself to Sunn O))) for the first time this afternoon, specifically through Black One.

Out of curiosity, what's the word for when a guitar or two guitars are feedbacking and they sort of go "Waaaaaaaaaaooooooooowaaaaaooooowaaaooowaowowowowowowowowowowooooooooo"? It's the same sort of sound when two tones slowly become in tune with each other.

The pulsing effect of two not-quite-in-tune sounds is called beating or beats.  The speed of the beats is the difference between the frequencies of the two notes.

My old band teacher called it that, but I always figured it was more of a colloquialism than anything else.

Anyway, thanks!

i've just listened to two demos that i'm recording vocals for tmrw, about a million times through trying to finalise and practice the lyrics.  i'm gonna be sick of these by the time it comes to mixing and mastering them  :x

on the upside, i've had a good excuse to listen to the song i'm covering (idlewild's "a modern way of letting go") a shitload.  it's not QUITE started to get annoying yet...

this is all for a university final project, i should point out.
