I've only heard one of Gravity Kills' songs...apparently, if you want to be a heavy alternative band, you must cover Personal Jesus. What is up with that?

Right now I'm taking a break from trying to transpose Metallica to violin.

dude is a LEGEND.  me and a few mates (including a vocalist who looks very like mr. lynch) covered "kill a kitten" at a talent show back in high school; we upped the heaviness somewhat and had a MASSIVE comedy guitar solo thing where we had to physically restrain the guitarist from carrying on with it - it was funnier than that sounds...  we won the shit right out of that talent show!

What's a good Stephen Lynch album to start with? I randomly heard one of his songs on the radio the other day and thought it was too amazing to ever forget.

"Special" is good, but you really cant go wrong with anything off of his "Live at El Rey" dvd. (posted and reposted all over youtube)

I'd recommend Craig, Special, Talk to Me and Superhero from that show.  For The Ladies and Love Song as well if you're into raunchy humor that comes completely out of left field.

All 4 of his albums are great with Superhero being the best, Craig Machine a close, close 2nd. He's got 2 Comedy Central specials floating around as well if you're interested. He's really an artist you have to watch to get the full effect. The facial features alone are worth the price of admission. I put a couple of links to his vids in the Comedians thread last month if u need a good starting point.

Ouchness...
Solution #1: Trust me and go to your nearest CD store and import his Live At El Rey Dvd? I imported it to New Zealand, took a week. Was actually cheaper than one of his CDS (US$14.95 instead of $19.95) and has more content. These were the prices a couple years ago now, coulda changed.
Solution #2: Youtube + Patience
Solution #3: You can download a few of his mp3s for free at stephenlynch.com
Solution #4: Torrents + More Patience.

Wal Mart stores stocked his "Cleanest Hits" collection (edited like hell) but still, slightly better than nothing. They should be able to get you in a copy. Or if its a cool Wal-Mart (mine was) they'd actually order a decent version for you.

The only other store is FYE, overpriced and an hour away. I just download an album every few weeks or months from Amazon.

For Zingoleb (or anyone else who youtubes)... I understand you're on dial-up, but if you have a little bit of patience I'm thinking I might have found a solution for your worries. At least one where you only have to open the video once. I posted a step by step guide to doing what I do in the Computers section. Let me know if it helps you.
