The Dresden Dolls - Lonesome Organist Rapes Page Turner

I find Amanda Palmer's voice very catchy. Or sexy...

the more i see/hear of amanda palmer, the more i start to think she could be the most weirdly spellbindingly hot woman alive...

anyway...  i'm currently listening to lots of poorly recorded fun-time punk rock in the form of Off With Their Heads' "All Things Move Towards Their End."

For You - Killswitch Engage

Excellent song. Also, is anyone else disappointed with their new album? It's too slow in my opinion.

I have only listened through it once so far, and it didn't really hit me as anything special... I shall give it another try though.

I still think the first is the best,  can't argue with their live performance though.

Codeseven - "Dancing Echos/Deadsounds"

Totally underappreciated, totally poppy, totally gorgeous.

What... really...   someone else that listens to codeseven?   I got that cd for free during some sort of fair at my old university and it sat on my desk for about a month.   Little did I realize just how amazing it really is.

Yeah, it's one of those records that shouldn't be obscure - it was on Equal Vision and produced by the same dude who was responsible for the first three Coheed albums, so it's not like it was hard to find - but for some reason, hardly anyone I've ever known has heard it. That record never fails to bring a smile to my face though.

Yeah it definitely is a great CD to mellow out to.  The singer really has a distinct voice.  I picked up one of their earlier CDs and it was not nearly as good, so its kind of sad to see them make such great progression only to fall flat and not get the recognition they deserve...  'tis the way of the music business I suppose

I have been listening to a lot of post rock lately! I thank you all for this because it really makes me happy. Happy!

I was listening to the Mogwai/Sigur Rós song "Luvstory" and found it remarkably boring. What did you do to Mogwai, Sigur Rós. What did you do!

Anyways, I've got Mr. Beast going now.

(Also, I'm faintly remembering someone posting like a year ago something along the lines of, "I like that one Mogwai song with no vocals")

Edit: Agh, goddammit. I keep trying to listen to Slint's Spiderland but whenever he starts singing I just can't listen anymore. Fuck that.

That Mogwai/Sigur Ros song is a fake. There's a FAQ on Mogwai's website in which they state that they never worked with Sigur Ros and don't plan to. That's probably why it's boring.  :-D

I just found out that it was a fake moments before I read your reply! I feel so angryiful because of this. I delete you from my library, fake! I destroy you utterly!

Listening through Međ Suđ Í Eyrum Viđ Spilum Endalaust and liking it a lot more than I remember liking it the first time. Mm. I was more of a 'eh' kind of person about Sigur Rós before but I am really starting to get into this.

No Cars Go by Arcade Fire. Finally picked up Neon Bible last night (I know I'm two years late and all). It's quite the awesome record.  Funeral is still better in my opinion. However, Funeral also grew a lot on me as I listened to it, so who knows.

The Four Seasons's 1968 album, "Genuine Imitation Life Gazette". Presently on the track "Idaho". Late sixties albums from bands that started in the early-to-mid sixties are always very interesting.

Overboard by The Rosenbergs.

First heard this song from a show called Undergrads. It was on the first season (series) finally. I just fell in love with the song while watching Undergrads again (it's be years since I've seen that show). Sadly like the show, I guess The Rosenbergs are not doing anything anymore. It's a shame, I really wanted to see them life :(

I hate how I always find an awesome band, to only find out that they're not around anymore, this sucks :(

Anyways, here's the song on youtube. It's a pretty repetitive song, but I really like the mellowness to it.

I have so much good music on my computer that I have just not listened to or gave a cursory listen to and never bothered with again.

Recently, I have discovered that I really like Mogwai's "Young Team," that I change my mind and actually like Sigur Rós.

Now I'm listening to Neon Bible and whoa why did I not listen to this more sooner?

I think it's very important to give yourself time to find an appropriate place and time to listen to a specific album - otherwise it might go totally over your head and you won't ever listen to it again. At least, that's my experience. I didn't feel like listening to Merryweather Post-Pavillion when it first came out and I still don't, but I bet that time will come.

The Secret Machines - Now Here Is Nowhere

This album was recommended to me by Brian Aubert, and it's so good that the music, to me, overshadows that fact.

I don't know if anybody can relate with this, but I'll suddenly look at it after months of not thinking about it and just go, "That," and end up listening to it constantly for two weeks.  Then I'll wake up one morning and I'll just forget about it completely and go onto my usual attention-deficient routine of picking and listening to music.

I think the only other two albums I do this with are Wincing The Night Away by The Shins and Takk by Sigur Ros.  I also seem to do it with Led Zeppelin's discography, too.
