A classic Funeral Doom album... Always fresh and those organs are brutal.

Travis Morrison's much maligned solo albums.

I'm still in mourning over his announcement a couple weeks back that he's quitting music for good.

"Dream Homes" by Dear Landlord.

I'm confused though - the tunes make me want to get wasted, sing triumphantly, and fuck shit proverbially right up, but the lyrics make me want to slit my wrists...

Still, amazing album!

A fellow called C.R. Avery, whose work I can only describe as blues-poetry-freestyle-rap-folk.

If you've ever seen Rent, some of his stuff is like Over The Moon, but more badass.

Buddy wakefield references CR Avery in his poem "The Information Man." I really need to get around to checking the guy out.

Rocking it old-school hardcore today, listening to Poison the Well's "The Opposite Of December" record...shit sounds so dated now it's not funny, but I'd forgotten how much I really love that trip.

the new billy talent - one of the few really commercial pop rock bands i still really enjoy.  not as good as their last album, at least not on the first listen, but not bad at all!

once it downloads, i'll also be listening to the new he is legend album.  i was gonna wait until my copy arrives until i listened, but fuck it, if they're gonna keep delaying it, i'm gonna download.

I've been listening to Marilyn Manson all day, then for awhile was trying to transcribe Metallica's "Call of Ktulu" for two violins and am now listening to Sigur Rós "Inní Mér Syngur Vitleysingur" again. Again.

Well, I would suggest you grab their Epics In Minutes comp, which puts together a lot of their early singles and 7"s...then grab the Year Of The Dog/Year Of The Pig singles. At that point, you'll pretty much be good to go as far as Fucked Up is concerned.

Here's how my foolish attempt to listen to the pillows during lunch on the work computer went:
Kid attending camp: Will you turn that crap off?
Me: What, you don't like J-Rock?
Kid: No way its, like, Chinese and shit.
My Boss along with every single other teacher in the room laughed at that kid for a good twenty minutes.

It's alright, but every time I listen to his newer stuff I just end up reverting to throwing on the best bits of The Half-Life of Kissing.

Battle Of Wolf 359 - The Death of Affect. Utterly amazing, probably the hardcore album of the year.

Fennesz - Endless Summer

Holy fucking shit this is amazing. Tim Hecker and he are like glitch ambient titans casting bleepy dream bolts down at us mortals from the clouds.

EDIT: Oh my what the fu- yes now I'm listening to Venice and it's even better! Endless Summer was slightly annoying at times (as is the risk with noisy glitch music) but this is just blissed out drone awesome.
