That's why I said ''a good band''.

The Pre-release version of ''Lucid Dreams'' by Franz Ferdinand. As good as the album version, although more straightforward.

Saosin - In Search of Solid Ground

kind of drab compared to even their self-titled album, and ultra-drab compared to the Translating the Name EP. Seems this promising band has been affected by major-label-drab-a-matosis. Still an ok listen though.

Sam & Dave - "I Thank You"

One of my favorite groups ever.  They're so funky and soulful.

edit:  Now Brave - "Falling Into Bliss"
I edit to say this because of the previous discussion on local bands.  They're one from DC (where I grew up), and a couple of the members worked at a music store with one of my friends in high school before the store closed.  I think it probably does make me enjoy them a little bit more knowing them and knowing that they're from DC.

Brad Mehldau does two fantastic versions of this song.  One with his trio (which has the best rhythm section possible) and the other one solo.

Train Kept A-Rollin' - Colin James

This is a strange experience since I heard Aerosmith's hard-rock version first.  This one is a swing version.  Still quite good.  I wholeheartedly recommend Colin James to you all.  He has some great rock n' roll songs as well as some great swing songs.

"you" and "your glass house" and probably a few more songs by Atmosphere on youtube.  i'm generally not into much rap stuff, but this is really moody, and seems to have more meaningful lyrics than the shitty commercial rap stuff i've mostly been exposed to.

Stravinsky - The Rite Of Spring

Some good classical music... I'm looking at a scene from the Disney masterpiece "Fantasia". Good old times.

The last scene (where the virgin dances herself to death) is so ridiculous.  I have no idea how any dancer could ever cope with those time signatures.

In Flames - "Gyroscope"

Dude, my band in high school totally ripped this song off for the chorus of one of our songs.

I'm talking about the plot of the ballet for which the music was originally written.

The Offspring - "I Choose"

edit:  That movement is called "Danse sacrale."
