Juicebox - The Strokes

I'm usually not into this sort of music, but lately I've been listening to more and more of it.

I can't :( The internet at work won't let me do anything fun, like watch things on youtube. Instead I am listening to We Are Scientists as loud as I can without annoying anyone else.

It's Corey Taylor of Slipknot fame, doing his idea of a Christmas song...In my mind We Are Scientists is the better listen.

And I have no idea what we are scientists sounds like.

I'd say We Are Scientists are pretty awesome. I'd also say that video is pretty horrifying. I am very glad that they don't play that with the other Christmas crap on the radio.

Into the Painted Grey by Agalloch. So good. The whole album is So Good, although I don't care for the transition between the first and second track too much.

I'm going through a bit of a grunge phase right now. Lots and lots of Mudhoney, and playing really distorted fuzzy riffs on my guitar.

I just discovered the For Carnation: really good, might up to mediaf!re if I'm not feeling lazy.

I guess I'm not the only person that discovered John Darnielle's twitter.

On that note: listening to Dance Music by The Mountain Goats

His twitter is so full of good recommendations.

People tend to moan about how the only good stuff Mayhem has ever done was with Euronymous and/or Dead (probably has something to do with them being dumb as hell) but Chimera is a really good modern metal album

Oh and also it is what I am listening to

"White Crosses" by Against Me.  Overproduction aside, this is a fucking brilliant album.  Haters be damned, Tom Gabel writes better pop-rock songs than he ever did folk-punk ones.

Savage Garden. And rocking the fuck out at that. Yep.

fuck yeah.

Totally jamming out to "Truly, Madly, Deeply" like a freshman at the prom in 1999 right now. Except I was in 4th grade back then. It's sappy and cutesy and certainly dated, but I'm totally okay with '90s pop. I mean, I enjoyed it back then.

tl;dr fuck yeah o/

It's swung a lot lately.  Last week it was mid to late 80's industrial.  The expected suspects, really.  This week it's been an early to mid 2000's EBM-fest.  Specifically Imperative Reaction's album Redemption, a whole mess of Icon of Coil, Destroid, 32Crash and the like.  That's the regular listening.  Specialized litening has incuded Roger Whittaker, Burl Ives, Vince Giraldi, Bing Crosby, etc., ec.,  I must admit that I spend much of the year with the Andrews Sisters kind of jammed in my head as a sort of automatic thing that I idly hum as a result.

Bf intro'd me to Mumford and Sons last week, never heard of them at all before then; absolutely adore it. Thistle and Weeds is my favorite song on the album so far, have listened to it twice a day every day since, once on the ride to work, once back, I don't even know why. It's like I have to. I -have- to
