Any odds?

So any odds on Dora dumping Marten within the next six months?
And him somehow finding improbable solace in the warm but strictly non-tactile love of Hanners within twelve?

RL months, or QC months?

I think "improbable" in your second question says it all.  :-P

Odds, probably at least 1-in-3720. Possibly more.
Possibly more than 9000.

There would need to be a mechanism which causes a split between Marten and Dora.  The only thing which I can think of that would bring about that is Marten's feelings for Faye.  Considering Faye is kind of with Sven now and the drama it would cause, I think Marten would just go back to moping about not having anyone.  After all, it took over 500 comics before Marten hooked up with Dora.

Unless an event outside of the character's control causes Marten and Dora to break, but that would probably involve more than 6 months lead time.  Also QC seems more character driven then plot driven, so I don't think Jeph would go that route.

Also, having Hanners start a relationship with Marten would be going against everything that her character has been established as.  She freaked out when Marten just hugged her, and we know Marten craves physical touch when it comes to relationship.  It doesn't seem like a viable pairing.  Sure, Marten helped to draw Hannelore out of her shell, but the slightest hint of affection drives her back into it.

Then again, Jeph could decide to do what ever the hell he wants.  It is his story after all.

Marten + Hanners?
Manners? Or Hanten?

*giggles at "manners"*

Marten and Dora breaking up?  I hope so.  MAOR DRAMA.

And if they break up?  Marten and faye would probably hook up.  I mean, Marten has some affection for Hannelore, but in recent comics it seems more like pity.

That would be a plot driven element shoehorned into a primarily character driven story.  Plus it would kill off a main character, which is never fun unless it is done by a silver haired, effeminate super villain with a long sword.

Dora gets it on with Tai, because she can't get naked Tai out of her head. Marten quits his job, as he can't stand the sight of Tai, and goes on a week long drunk where he gets it on with any drunk chick that doesn't move fast enough to escape his lecherous clutches. Dora and Faye have a major falling out over Dora's treatment of Marten. Faye quits her job and shacks up with Sven. Sven's song writing career really takes off as he cranks out angst ridden song after angst ridden song in efforts to deal with the commitment Faye has forced on him. Sven and Dora no longer speak because he blames Dora for Faye moving in. Hannelore can't handle the drama and checks herself into a hospital. Dora burns down CoD for the insurance money and moves to some tropical isle with Tai, whom promptly leaves her for some island cutie. Raven murders Sven and Faye in a jealous rage before offing herself. And in a strange twist Marten and Steve become life partners and head off to Canada.

Ok ... I think it's time for me to go to sleep now ...

It was a meteor pulled in by Hanners' dad for mad sciencing.

You'd think with the amount of plot writing going on around here that several new web comics could be started up...

Exactly.  I can't get over all the "JEPH JEPH, DO THIS" and "I BET JEPH DOES X" crap.  Jeph will do whatever the hell he wants with his comic.  I understand people getting excited over something, but there is a difference between getting excited and making unreasonable demands/putting characters into settings that they are obviously not suited for because you think it's a good idea.

On the other hand, it could be worse.  There could be a fan fiction thread!  (I would lock a fan fiction thread and move it to the trashcan and then drink heavily to forget it existed)

I view fanfics and threads like "OMG Jeph should do this!" as an insult to the actual author.  Its like a single fan has decided that they can write the story better than the actual author.

As I posted in another thread, QC is being subject to what everything else has been; crazed fans making obscure pairings, then elaborating upon them with completely nonsensical "proof", and then the fanfiction starts getting typed. It's happened to damn near everything else worth someone's time, so it was only a matter of time until it happened to QC...

I really wish people weren't so stupid as well, but sadly, this can't be helped...

The thing is, Karamazov, those people who furiously stand by their paring and claim it's canon simply don't care. All that matters to them is their pairing, and [SARCASM] any and all who oppose them are OBVIOUSLY stupid, because they can't see the true love that exists between (insert pairing here). And since Jeph put the OBVIOUS hints and clues in the comick, that means he supports it tooo, so how could it POSSIBLY be an insult too him?1/ Gohs, u liek ttoaly ned tooo lern teh fatcs, kthxbai.

I know they don't care.  The more depressing thing to me is that they can't go and create their own story.  One where they get to create any pairing they want between any character.  Simply borrowing another person's characters makes me sad due to lack of originality.

Wow.   Yeah.   Kudos on the art though, too bad he couldn't have picked an original subject/setting.

Heck set it in a tire-change shop and call it WHEELS OF DOOM and have the characters make impenetrable and obscure GI Joe references instead of Indy Music references.   That way it's SIMILAR to QC and pays homage to QC but is distinct from QC.

The part of your brain responsible for vision are the occipital lobes, located at the back of your brain, above the cerebellum. The part of your brain responsible for memories is the cerebral cortex, which covers outer 1/4 inch of your brain. I also suggest blaming your hippocampus, because it's responsible for forming memories in the first place. Have fun finding which part of the cerebral cortex has the memory stored, as it's impossible to tell where memories are stored exactly.

Come on guys, the author is dead. (Not literally of course, but according to Barthes)

So whether Jeph or his buddies are annoyed by these what if games, they're going to happen anyway. If he doesn't want them too, he shouldn't publish anything for public consumption.
