How does one go about it, anyway? Do you just bother a mod until they change it for you or something?

You stare at the computer screen, concentrating on your screen-name really hard.

And then you ask an admin.

My friends and I tried doing something like this after a pub bet earlier this year and this has helped me decide that I will in no way, not now, not in the foreseeable future take part in this because every morning I woke up looked in the mirror I died a little inside and by the end of the month it was just a question of weather I used the razor on my facefuzz or my wrists first.

(speaking of name changing, if any friendly admin could capitalize the 'a' in my name, that would be super)

I would do this but my neckbeard would just be embarassing and patchy.  I can't live with that for a month, i can hardly live with it for a week.

I grew a mo last year for Movember and earned just over $1,000 for prostate cancer and depression awareness and research.

Earlier this year I grew a goatee that I'm too lazy to shave off and grow back so I'll just be supporting other mo's around the office.

(totally irrelevant to topic, but ephemere is tania right? why are people suddenly changing their names? it only makes life confusing.)

sorry! i thought everyone pretty much knew me as tania by now and it got to a point where having my username be anything else other than my name felt really stupid. also i didn't want someone else to take it before me.
if it helps, i will probably never change my avatar.

i'm guessing someone's posts got deleted there ^ otherwise shit just isn't makin sense roun' here... :?  (EDIT:  i'm clearly retarded and didn't notice different users with the same avatar )

but yeah, i mite do this novembeard thing.  even though i'm convinced that i must have had a face transplant with a 6 year old and somehow forgotten about it, because my facial hair growing ability is woefully bad...  i tried to get my mate to join the fun, and his response was "it'd include a moustache right?  chicks don't dig moustaches, and i dig chicks.  so, no."   despite this being a legitimate concern, i'll probably still go for it.

But you haven't had a really long one, have you? My friend Bryce basically has long flowing golden face locks, it's mesmerizing and every time I see him there's a girl with anime eyes trying not to touch it.

did you just miss the post five (didn't count) posts up?

Question for the guys: proper beard, how long does it take to grow a full one if you're actually capable of growing a full beard? cause I get discouraged pretty easily, and I just want to know what it would require. (girls can answer too if they have answers...)

Shane told me I should do Novembeard, because "You've got a bit of beard going on there, you could do it."

I told him that this pathetic 1cm growth was a 2-month effort, and we just laughed.

It depends wildly on your genetics and what you mean by "full beard". I'm going to assume you mean facial hair at a length that clearly isn't just stubble and looks okay (i.e. an even covering).

I have friends who can grow such a beard in 3 days. For mine it took 3 weeks to look reasonable and another 3 to thicken up (i.e. the slow growing hairs growing as long as the trimmed fast growing hairs). I also have friends who can't grow a beard at all (mostly Asians and girls).

Dawg, clearly you are one of these Scientists we keep hearing about. I expect you'll soon be teaching my kids about how cavemen didn't hunt stegosauruses for dinner! What the fuck, man? What's next, that whole "we are descended from monkeys" crap?

Beards have absolutely nothing to do with genetics. It is all about how much mojo you have in your nuts. It is about how much of a MAN you are. We judge your manliness based on your ability to will onto your face a more magnificent beard than your competitors in the span of a month.

How much of a man are you?

How much of a man are you?

Man enough to be too lazy to shave my beard off and grow a new one next month.

Man enough to be happy donating to charity for other men to go through the horrible not-stubble/not-beard phase for me.

Man enough not to be worried whether this is considered man enough by anyone else.

Actually that last question was kind of generalised, so that lots of people could make broad and self-important statements bragging about the size of their dicks. You know, like a campaign or an advertising slogan. But good show!

This month I am growing a mustache for a play that I am in, so this is rather serendipitous.  No beard, though, so I'm only halfway participating.
