I've done that.

It was awesome.

There's this really handy "other thing" I'm going to write as a footnote to my abstract that I can probably explore these issues in. I think I'll call it my "dissertation."

This isn't a social singles site, dude. Do you just walk in to a coffee shop and say "who needs a new friend"? Do you put up posters around town saying "hangout associates wanted"?

Man, Cleveland is a terrible place. When I lived there I made a total of two friends. And it smells bad a lot.

Man, I was wondering when lunchy had changed her avatar, and why she was asking about people in Cleveland.

To the OP, because we don't really know you (seeing as you have a total of 26 posts) people are probably not willing to hang out with you for a number of reasons:

a) we don't know what you are like. There is the large risk of going to hang out and just not getting along with you. Personality clash and all that.
b) we don't know what you are like. You could be an axe murder for all we know.
c) we don't know what you are like. We haven't even seen a photo of you, so we don't even have that as a point of reference.

You haven't really given us that much information about yourself (other than the fact that you've broken up with your lady and live in Cleveland) so there isn't that much interest (for lack of a better word) about you. You're still one of the amorphous blob of posters on the forums. Maybe try contacting some of your old friends that you lost? How about finding what kind of sporting clubs are available around there? If sports aren't your thing then try and see if any of your hobbies have groups around? You could always do something crazy that you wouldn't have thought of, like going to life drawing classes or a knitting group. The internet isn't the only option here.
