Remember those albums you made in May/June?
« on: 08 Nov 2008, 11:53 »

Yeah, those are the ones. Hi. I'm back.
I kinda happened upon my own entry earlier last week and realised that I never compiled all the entries onto one webpage. I'm going to start that TODAY.
Unfortunately, I was only able to track down 6 of the entries, and I know there were a lot more than that.
So if you still have yours sitting around and would give permission for it to be posted on the blogpage for the event, could you send it to me? If any of you have lost your album, somebody else might still have it.

The entries I have so far are:
My own (Sox)
Barnett/Bauman
INABIAL
The Flux Liner
Valley Parade
Dmart's "The Scherzo"

ALL OF THEM. Except for Linds' recording.

I doubt that everybody wants their album made public again, a lot of people seemed pretty embarrassed with them (yet there wasn't a single bad entry) so I'm gonna chase down each person and ask their permission. It's probable that half the people who took part don't read the forums anymore, so I don't expect to be able to track them all down. Yeah, I know, I'm sorry it took me so long. I'm a jerk. Hopefully it'll be done before the end of the week.

Can I finish mine? Or make a new one? I actually have time for that now and I never did finish the last one. (And some of the old tracks were dumb anyways.)

If anybody wants to lie and make a new entry, then claim they made it in May, I wouldn't know any different.
For all you guys know, I am doing the same thing. But let's stick to our words this time?

You say there's not a single bad entry, yet my band's album is already on your list.

If you think it's good, then WE'VE FAILED.

There wasn't a single entry I didn't enjoy listening to, and I downloaded them all! My laptop was stolen and erased since, but I vividly remember enjoying each one. Some of them got played on my iPod every day while I still had them.

Pwhodges just sent me an archive of all but one entry, that person already knows who they are. So I guess I have all the entries that were posted in the thread now, and I only need permissions from all the people involved.
That happened MUCH faster than I thought it would.

I'm pretty sure it was mine you didn't like because it was mixed so poorly, right?

Hahahaha. You've not listened to mine. It was recorded live on a computer mic. The 'mixing' was placing amps in the right place.

Mine was pretty dreadful. To give you some idea- It's up on Terror Noise Audio Blogspot and is called 'sample symphony'.

I don't know whether I actually posted it here, but I did talk about it. Just wondering whether you have it.

Are we gonna do another one of these? It was really fun.

Oh yeah, I missed a few posts. In May, we will be doing this again. The event in May is an annual thing now. Dan is working on the "24houralbums" blogger page (very slowly) where I'll upload and detail the event and any others like it. I'm pretty keen to do one over Christmas, starting from the 19th.
BBQR, I don't think I ever did hear yours actually, I'm looking for it on that blogger site now.
I've written most of the reviews I want to post with the albums, but I can't think of much else to add besides "It sounds nice, that's a good song" and that kind of thing. If any of you want to talk about the setup you used or something to flesh the posts out a little, go for it.

If you all angrily PM Dan demanding that he drops everything and works on the layout for us, I'm sure he'll get on it much sooner. Otherwise I'll start another without telling him and have it done in HTML within 20 minutes. I'm pretty sure this is because he doesn't actually know CSS and he is making it up as he goes along.

(Thanks for being patient everybody)

Seems like I can't get onto this forum at all when I am at home for some reason. Is there any chance you could send me an email next time we are having this competition?

Sorry, I finally stopped being terrible and finished it up (barring a few tweaks, if needed).
