There's this really handy "other thing" I'm going to write as a footnote to my abstract that I can probably explore these issues in. I think I'll call it my "dissertation."

My sister is called Menolly, after the character in the Harper Hall trilogy by Anne McAffery.

Oh shit I read those books when I was little! With the tiny fire-lizards and all?

Oh man fuck I change my goddamn choices! I want a pair of bronze fire lizards, I'd name them Poncho and Lefty.

Warhammer armor

How hot would one of those get on a summer day?

Adeptus Astartes Issue Power Armour is fully enclosed, allowing it's wearer to operate in everything from blistering heat to arctic winter. Only the Mk. I "Thunder" suits are unenclosed, but these suits were only used on Terra, during the tail end of The Dark Age of Technology and the Age Of Strife. When the Great Crusade began, Mk. II "Crusade" suits were implemented in The Emperor's first Astartes legions.

Yeah, I totally want a suit of that too, including the full Space Marine genetic upgrade.

I want one of those tube-powered computer sound cards. How fucking radical would it be to process homemade recordings on that thing?

Especially since I plan on having at least one tube-powered guitar effects pedal within the next year. FUCK YEAH 12AX7

Don't you have a solid state amp, so putting a tube pedal through it would be near pointless?

The idea is that I'd only be using the amp's clean channel (which, with the tube emulation turned off, sends a perfectly unaltered signal [excepting EQ] through the effects loop circuitry). And I'm getting the Tri-Mode pedal (bypass/od1/od2), meaning that I can have a super clean tube channel and a tube crunch channel.

Besides, I plan on selling that amp and using the money to get a Fender Blues Deluxe. I have used such an amp before and holy fuck, what an experience. When I combine it all, I'll be able to have a clean channel, an overdrive channel, and a FUCK YOU channel.

I've found that putting a tube amp into a solid state - even on clean - loses a lot of the effect, because the tube sound can't really be reproduced through a signal, it needs to be produced by pushing the tubes. But hey, Blues Deluxe means problem solved (more than that, those things are fantastic).

I was hoping for a time of worldwide prosperity and technological and cultural enlightenment. But this future's got potential.

I want a Star Trek transporter.  I want to be able to step onto a glowing circle on the floor and three seconds later be at work, or at the store, or at my friend's house, or back home when I'm done.  All without stepping outside, because I don't like the outdoors.

Star Trek transporters scared the shit out of me since I was little.  No continuity of consciousness, as demonstrated by numerous accidents they've had with the damn things on like every series.  Same thing with cloning experiments a la Sixth Day, or going back in time to fix your past (cause you're really fixing someone else's past at that point)

I just want to be an astronaut!  A dream currently shattered when I got type 1 diabetes at 14.  I still plan on doing it, if I have to get rich and pay my way I will.  Oh, and I want to build the worlds fastest piston driven, single engine sea plane.  A record currently held by the Macchi M.C. 72 set in 1939 at 709km/h.
