not really... I mean, the wrist definition is bad, but your hand is a little smaller than your face. If anything, Dora's arm is too short.

I disagree. Dora's arm is bent behind Marten's back so that her hand is at the height of his head.

Try it yourself, you'll look much like Dora does, with your shoulder slightly raised.

lol wow.. i just noticed that once you said it. i didn't notice that the first time. lol oh well. also jeph did a mis spell too in one of the comics. the word was "when" but forgot the "n". so its "whe". if anyone saw that

Has anyone ever noticed that J.J. is really good at drawing perky breasts, along with cool t shirt designs to go on top of said breasts... but can't draw a character's hand to save his life? Wil's hands in the latest comic (1286) vs penelope's boobs for example.

yeah, I noticed that too- he does a mean shadowing (shading?? sorry, I'm Portuguese and I don't know what's the word for it...) there!

I can say this pretty accurately, it's firggin' hard to draw a hand perfectly. A boob on the other hand, is a pretty simple shape. And people look at boobs more than hands, anyway.

it's pretty funny to imagine Dora's hand that big on other panels- like it was a normal thing to have one huge hand. It's not that it's badly drawn, the perspective simply isn't too great. But we don't ask for perfection and Jeph isn't going for the photo-realistic style!
The boobs, on the other hand (no pun intended) are really well drawn, I've just gone through the archive and it's a constant- the shading is very good.

Hands ARE the most annoying thing to draw. All those pointy bits and tips and stuff! I've seen drawing tutorials where half the pages are spent on the hands and half the pages on the rest of the body x3
Besides from feet, although it's easy to just draw shoes =3

And as an agreement, the boobs are awesome. We just have to be careful to see if they get any more gravity-defying than they are now...

That weren't her hand, that were her arm! The heel of her hane is behind the upper hair stickout on the back of his head, and her wrist is just below that. The rest is arm.

After drawing an awkwardly held muffin in panel one, then hiding their hands in the next two panels... jeph nailed it with penelope's open palmed gesture in panel four... but still whiffed on dora's left hand. Probably shoulda drawn it with her left hand on her hip in a "oh no you di'int" pose, rather then the slight recoil she's showing.
