Until I go and see Milk and/or Frost/Nixon I really don't see much competition for this year.

I'm looking forward to seeing both Milk and Frost/Nixon, but they're going to have to be pretty damn special indeed to beat this film:

looks like a pretty good film
I'll keep an eye out for it next time I'm in France
That makes me sound right rich, that.

I'm not going to bother making my own list, since that'd be a lot of work, but I'm guessing more of you need to see 1994's Hoop Dreams. Don't give me any crap about not being interested in basketball either. That's missing the forest for the trees.

1993: Groundhog Day - What if Bill Murray had to wake up everyday and go to that hipster party until he learned to accept that most young folks today are going to judge his entire body of work by whatever Wes Anderson films they've seen him in?

Mine has the dubious distinction of being the oldest, though not the longest (sweet mother of bleeding Jesus, est, yours is a tribute to the awesomegeist of compulsion) list compiled. I've seen all of these, though I needed help with the chronology prior to the 70's.

1957: Gunfight at the OK Corral,     1958: The Long, Hot Summer,
1959: Porgy and Bess,     1960: The Magnificent Seven,
1961: The Hustler,    1962: To Kill a Mockingbird,
1963: Donovan's Reef,     1964: Dr. Strangelove,
1965: Cat Ballou,     1966: The Russians Are Coming! The Russians Are Coming!,
1967: Casino Royale,     1968: The Odd Couple,
1969: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,     1970: Catch-22,
1971: Fiddler on the Roof,      1972: Cabaret,
1973: The Sting,     1974: Chinatown,
1975: Rocky Horror Picture Show (283 times),     1976: Murder by Death,
1977: The Goodbye Girl,     1978: Animal House,
1979: Being There,     1980: Hopscotch,
1981: Absence of Malice,     1982: The Year of Living Dangerously,
1983: The Big Chill,     1984: The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai across the Eighth Dimension,
1985: Out of Africa,     1986: Heartbreak Ridge,
1987: The Witches of Eastwick,     1988: Bull Durham,
1989: The War of the Roses,     1990: My Blue Heaven,
1991: The Commitments,     1992: Sneakers,

2001: The Royal Tenenbaums,     2002: Gangs of New York,
2003: Runaway Jury,     2004: The Life and Death of Peter Sellers,
2005: No Direction Home,     2006: A Scanner Darkly,
2007: Michael Clayton,     2008: Transsiberian

Does somebody have a list of every film released in Australia, 1979-present? If not, my list will look somewhat patchy (years are Australia release dates, not necessarily year of production):

- 1986: Hannah and Her Sisters
- 1999: the Dreamlife of Angels
- 2000: Fucking Åmål (a.k.a. Show Me Love)
- 2003: Etre et Avoir (a.k.a. To Be and To Have)

Dude, I still haven't even seen the first one all the way through.  I couldn't stand either of those for more than 30 minutes at a time.
