The Monks

I felt like this band needed their own thread. Amazing proto-noise art-rock band from from the 60s.

I think the best part is the people dancing as if there's not a guitar on the floor being shredded to hell...

I started a thread on the Monks a year or so ago, when the banjo player died.

They've got a good album to their name. And there probably wouldn't be a Fall without them, so we can thank them for that at least.

Haha, I got their album when you posted that thread, I think. I really dug it, partially because I am partial to lots of music with banjo anyway, I think.

The thing about The Monks is that they are easily in my Top 3 Bands I Love But Never Really Listen To...I don't know why.

Just ran into them a couple weeks ago myself, was totally blown away. The story behind them is pretty interesting as well if you don't know it. American GI's in Germany who decided to stay there once they got out of the military and started band. There's a movie about them around somewhere.
