Anyone interested in getting together at a bar in Toronto, Mississauga, Etobico, or Markham?

As a serious answer, what they're trying to say was that sadly this happened quite recently and was a pretty amazing thing (I wish I'd been :-() so probably won't happen in a big way again soon.

You might find a couple of locals who want to have hangouts though!

Stick around for about six months and people will be more inclined to meet up with you. Possibly. It really depends on how you get on.

Chances that people will want to meet you are probably be bigger if you're a girl. I haven't been here for long, haven't really posted much but met two (male) forumites who I PM'd to say hi because they were in the same area as I. I don't really remember, but I'm pretty sure that in both cases the other person suggested that we meet up although I might have said something to the effect "let's go for a drink when I'm in the area for Christmas" to one of them.

So get a sex change operation maybe? From my experience, meeting QC people is awesome! :) Also, both forumites I met are apparently willing to meet again, so I must have done ok.

Gender hasn't got shit to do with it. I have an Australian sleeping on my couch for two weeks this month. I promised him chicken, but that's just a bonus.

To be honest, I'm not sure that it isn't at least partially true. I mean, I know that everyone I've met so far has been male but anyway I can imagine that most people might feel more comfortable meeting a girl because we're less threatening.

Then again, that's from the perspective of a small and rather weak teenage girl. I hear that everyone in Toronto is a man, so that shouldn't cause you too many problems.
