Your theme tune
« on: 16 Jan 2009, 09:52 »

What manner of song do you want playing as you walk around, something that encapculates how you feel at a certain moment?

It can be a specific song or just a descriptive thing. I am not sure of mine, but Voltaires "when You're evil" is a facorite at the moment.

I feel like "Do You Realize???" by The Flaming Lips most encapsulates the mindset I am in most often, but if I had one song following me around as I walked around on the street it would probably be the entirety of the "Accipio" EP by Mountains in the Sky.

meh, don't feel bad.  i was gonna pick "As I Am" but then i realised this was a "theme song" thread, and not a "wrestling entrance theme" thread.  i don't even like wrestling, but i've got my entrance theme lined up... that's kinda weird.

Depending on my mood, either "Sun Feet" by Eisley, or that one Scott Walker song with the creepy Donald Duck noises near the end.

Oh.  It's called "The Escape."

If I was a professional wrestler, I'd definitely want to be introduced by Gojira's "Vacuity."  Or "Sun Feet."

I am sad to say the first thing that popped into my head was Stereophonic's cover of "You Sexy Thing." My subconscious is sick.

Although their version of "Ooh La La" would work.

Other than that, my tastes in background music tend to lean more mainstream than my other tastes in music. "Come Around" by MIA or "Oh Timbaland" would work, and if I'm in a bad mood? 99 Problems of course.

I suppose if I ever went on the prowl, I might want "Flower in the Night" by CALLmeKAT. That song is SICK.

Now?

Old Crow Medicine Show's version of "Wagonwheel."  Of course, I just got back from going to a wedding in south carolina (not mine, mind you)-"If I die in Raleigh, at least I will die free."

And it evokes my love of the south, such as it is, in a way kinda parallel to Faulkner (but less intellectually, more viscerally).

Depends on my mood, though.  Sometimes it might be Bach or Palestrina.

I may wish to augment my initial choice. While I still LOVE California and therefore my original choice is still relevant, that is my energetic "FUCK YEAH" theme. My fight song will be "Join Together" by The Who. My pissed off and/or upset song will be "Quadrat Im Kreis" by Wizo. My love song is "Alison" by Elvis Costello. The song for my death will be "Concerning The UFO Sighting Near Highland, Illinois" by Sufjan Stevens.
