Dear blugghr

Today we painted the walls in the girls locker room pink. They painted ours light blue. This is because the people who are supposed to do that are lazy bastards and we wouldn't bother to wait any more. The shockingly pinkness of a completely pink room is quite fun.

This really sounds like some kind of customary mass-courting ritual. You know, like maypoles and such.

See but they don't actually spend any time with the girls as far as I can tell. The girls are over painting their locker room.

But it's the locker rooms outside the dance hall (not kidding), so we could do courtship dances there after.

Dear Blog Thread,

Today my significant other messaged me about her fish tank breaking.  I asked her how.  She said she had to move it and it cracked and broke.  Which I responded, "so you didn't remove the water first?".  I should of worded it better but it's what came to mind.  After letting me know I failed at that response she continued to go on about how she wanted to start crying because of the mess.  So to keep her from crying I decided to give her this response, "Why cry like a baby when something bad happens, learn from your mistake and move forward".  She quickly hinted to me how i'm not getting anything this weekend.  I began to cry.

I'm sorry I defended you that time.

P.S; Are you like 13 or 14? Your utter cluelessness may be forgivable if you are in fact barely pubescent.

So today is my birthday, and I don't see it so much as getting older as beginning a countdown to an age that actually matters. Also, I ate really delicious Thai food.

My boyfriend just found out that he got into the university I attend, as a transfer student.  So last night, I bought him Plasticine and a little tropical fish bath toy that actually swims (read: we are children).  Today, we made a little Plasticine me and fooled around with animated GIFs.

In addition to my avatar, see dancing and trying to fly.

In other news, I just saw Milk, which was really well acted but also pretty depressing in light of the passing of Prop 8.  Bigotry is no more dead than it was in 1978.

Well, today I am not getting any manner of sex, but by the same token I am taking a very beautiful girl to dinner, and getting a new suit... this is probably going to be the most fun I have had on a valentines day in... well pretty much ever.

Also, Miss Elizzybeth? Those plastecine model things are awesome, never let anyone tell you different.

Last night I went out to see Jolie Holland perform. It was pretty good. I caught the tail-end of the last support band's set, and the final song they played was possibly the worst song I have ever heard. The song was played at a pace that can only be described as "plodding", and I was literally gawping at the awfulness of the lyrics. This was the opening verse:

Tell me what your heart's made out of
Tell me what your heart's made from
Tell me what your heart's made out of
So I can make my own.

Amazingly, it only got worse from there.

Hog Shed,

Yesterday's Friday the 13th was about at least two different kinds of shitfuck:
1. While me and my roommate were at school, I get a call from my dad saying that the alarm at the house got tripped. I couldn't exactly do anything about that at the time being, so I called my roommate to tell him to get home ASAP to check it out because I had another class to go to. He didn't get my message, and I had to call him after my class to tell him to do it. Thank goodness nothing actually happened, probably the massive amounts of wind fucking with the garage side door's sensor?

2. We were cleaning up the kitchen because my lady was to come over today for me to make her a damn hell as Valentine's Day meal. We've wiped down the stove top and everything and I'm about to put the knobs back on when suddenly the fucking gas lighters start sparkling repeatedly and I couldn't turn them off. I genuinely thought I was going to die, I even got shocked in a panic. Two calls to my girlfriend and PG&E later, I unplugged the stove from the wall and it stopped. Apparently a little bit of water got inside the thing and needs to dry out first before plugging it back in.

It's been seventeen hours after that thing happened and the stove top isn't working yet. I'm calling PG&E again as soon as I feel awake enough to deal with this bullshit.

Oh and girlfriend time has been postponed until tomorrow.

Dear Blog Thread,

Good News! And Bad News! And Kinda Inbetween News!

Valentines day plans are going half way well.

Plan 1: visit roommate who is currently in jail. This is what I have been fretting over that I don't want my family to know. Its a long story.
I am very excited about this because despite my thought yesterday that I wouldn't be able to, I actually might be able to now! This is super exciting and puts me a bit at ease.

Plan 2: Go see Coraline with the cutest people I know/the only people I really love! My siblings!
This plan might not be working out, and that is lame.  I had my heart set on this. :(

Plan 3: Be a lesbian with my best friend for Valentines Day!
So far this plan is go!

Last night I went out to see Jolie Holland perform. It was pretty good.

Oh hey, I saw her play out here when she toured Escondida, I think in 2004 or there abouts. My housemate and I repeatedly requested Mad Tom of Bedlam when she asked which songs we wanted to hear. She eventually played it for us! There were only about 30 people in the audience, so she was quite obliging.

Also fuck it's 5:30 in the morning.

Blog Thread-

I got my necklace today! I ordered this little beauty (http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=20174209) on Monday and it was in my mailbox today. I am excited! Tonight I am going to a ridiculous party at a bar/music venue and I am probably going to use the necklace as a ploy to talk to cute boys.

Wish me luck!

Hello Blorg Thed.

Only two interesting things happened yesterday. The first one was that my newest coworker's check wasn't mailed to the store along with everyone else's. (She does not have direct deposit, so this is major suckage.) It turns out that it was sent to Bethesda, Maryland by mistake. The other interesting thing was that I went to a Pure Romance party that a friend was hosting that had both guys and girls, so that was a lot of fun. It would have been fun without the boys, but considering one of the guys was forced to wear a strap on that was baby pink for being late made it much more interesting.

Today was really uneventful. It will continue to be uneventful, but that's okay because I've had a headache all day and really don't feel like going to the bar with my single friends considering I am not gay and they both are and the bar in question is a gay bar. I either need more straight single friends or I should just become gay. I don't know.

I must admit I am somewhat curious now.

Also today was one of the few days in my life that I am going to look back on and say "I was happy then". I had one of my friends visiting, someone I have had strong feelings for since the age of about 16, we went shopping, had a coffee, talked about guys, walked, talked and laughed. Then I took her for a meal so she can say "I got a taken to dinner on valentines day", we hugged a lot and now I am sat in bed, talking to people about it and I am just so at peace, the world seems like a brighter place.

So today, just six days after my grandmother's memorial service, my mother filled the bathtub, prepared a dish with two knives and a barbecue fork (?), and took twenty-five sleeping pills.

Luckily, she fell asleep before she reached the bathtub to slit her wrists.  My brother got home from tae kwon do, figured out that something was wrong, and called my father at work--the paramedics rushed my mom to the hospital and pumped her full of charcoal.  She is just beginning to wake up.  When she recovers physically, I expect that she will spend at least a couple of weeks in the psychiatric hospital.  This is her third serious suicide attempt in my lifetime.

You've been a shit fuck of a year so far, 2009.

And I'm really sorry about everything. That fucking sucks ass. I'm sorry. I know saying sorry doesn't really help, but seriously. I'm sorry.

Maybe we should start a club. The "Please can our lives be better, please???" Club. This years club goal: Have a moderately ok year. We aren't asking much. Not even good. Just moderately ok.

The real-estate agent wants to do an inspection at our house on Tuesday. This won't be a big deal: it's happened a couple of times before and it was literally a five-minute glance-over. However, it goes without saying that it's a Very Good Idea for the house to be neat and tidy before Tuesday morning. (For reference: it's now 12:30 on Sunday night, Australian Eastern Daylight Savings time.) Ideally the house cleaning would be done by myself and both my housemates equally. However one of my housemates is at her parents' place helping to make sure it's safe from the bushfires, so she gets a pass. My other housemate, on the other hand, does not. And she hasn't yet lifted a finger to help. And right now that shits me because I spent all afternoon cleaning the house. And all afternoon she's been at a music festival.

Now, I understand, she bought the ticket for the festival ages ago, and we only got the letter informing us of the inspection last week, so I don't really expect drop everything and spend the day at home. I would, however, very much like it if she could at least take ten minutes to do the two, and only two, things I asked her to: namely, moving back into her room the mattress that her friend from interstate slept on two weeks ago, and which has been lying on our sitting-room floor, dirty sheets and all, ever since; and putting away the esky which has been sitting out the front of our house, still full of esky-water, for the last couple of months since she took it to another music festival.

So far she hasn't done either of those things. Maybe she'll do them tomorrow night. Maybe I'm being unfair. But the fact is that she's been out-and-about doing fun things all weekend, while I, having a sense of responsibility, felt obliged to turn down the offer to go see a band with a friend this afternoon so that I could vacuum the house (including finding a new vacuum cleaner to borrow when ours spontaneously went up in flames and smoke, literally, shortly after I plugged it in today), and do the washing-up, and sweep the kitchen and bathroom floors, and pick up her dirty tissues and lolly-wrappers off the sitting-room floor. And now the house is looking lovely and clean, except for her fucking mattress and esky which I shouldn't even have to ask her to clean up for fuck's sake.

Rant rant rant, vent vent vent. For someone who complains about being allergic to dust she sure leaves a lot of shit lying around the place.

for valentine's day me + housemate + friend made a pie. then we watched movie films and ate the pie with lots of chocolate and ice cream. i fell asleep on the couch and drooled everywhere. it all turned out pretty good, i'm starting to really enjoy this baking thing.

i'm sorry to hear that things have been shitty for so many people. i hope everything turns out okay.

Blog Thread,

I have something to confess. My love for Tommy. Tommy, you rugged handsome British fellow, sweep me away, take me to America. Oh, the good times we will have! Tommy, I would die for you.

I am quite glad that I don't live within 100 miles of any of my siblings any more.

Guys, I have been busy! And I am still busy! This is the first time I've been on the computer in several days, due to all kinds of busyness. Here are some highlights:

I spent Friday with my best friend, looking around the university he is going to next year and giggling at the fact that I had to go to all the "parent" talks while he went to the "applicant" ones.
Yesterday I did a double shift at work (meaning I spent 9 and a half hours in the supermarket) and a large quantity of that time was spent talking to an incredibly beautiful girl who is giving me a lift home next Thursday (cunning mention of the necessity for taxis brought this happy circumstance about).
Tomorrow I am going to see my foster family and we will swing through the trees like monkeys at some kind of outdoor pursuit centre, and on Tuesday I'm going into college during my holidays to slop paint around and play with a light board.

Things are exciting and today is Sunday and it is the best day.

However I am growing anxious about post.

There's this really handy "other thing" I'm going to write as a footnote to my abstract that I can probably explore these issues in. I think I'll call it my "dissertation."
