God, I hate when people use sites like yahoo answers to dispense medical advice. One time a few years back I stumbled upon a forum in which some idiot mother proudly described how making her 2 year old soak in apple vinegar finally ended the child's "long battle with high fever and pneumonia". This wouldn't have bothered me much if it weren't for the fact that the woman talked at length about how doctors are too quick to medicate. Which you know, is true to an extent, but in this case the woman's solution was to ignore the doctor's advice and quit giving her daughter the antibiotics the second she seemed to improve. Which, you know, is basically the worst possible response this side of of bloodletting. Of course, this being the internets, she was on a site in which she could basically preach to the choir and got all the support in the world. You know, despite the fact that she may very well have turned her daughter's infection from a one or two week long brush with illness into an ordeal that recurred a couple of times over the course of two months.
