I would go to SXSWcon definitely. I was supposed to go this year but then Eric couldn't get it off work and then we stopped being friends at all anyway.

As far as a second apartment goes, looking on the first page of that website with BEDROOMS: MOST TO LEAST, we get this, this (which seems close to the other one? not sure.) and this, which are all in the same price range too. Is there anything wrong with those places?

The only problem I see with the second one is that it charges separately to rent out each floor of the house, so you don't get the whole thing for the $495 price. The first and third ones look good, though.

The first one is a bit north of the city, and the third one is a bit south. I would recommend the second one in wrigleyville because its really close the belmont/clark area as well as boys town. Belmont and Clark has all sorts of cool head shops, bars, thrift stores, music venues, etc. Based on the general personality of these message boards I would expect most of you to have a good time there.

I just know I'm staying in the one with the garage and laundry. Those are good things to have. Also, out of those three, we were wondering when we did the last search if we'd be able to get more people in than what the place says it sleeps. Like place 2 says it sleeps 8, but I'm sure more than 8 people could be ok in there. Problem is we don't know if you can have more than 8, so we were looking at places that slept 10-12. But then again, this isn't a hotel and I'm sure you could sneak people in.

Place 1 is also in Evanston, which will be the farthest away from downtown out of the 3.

Well yes most trains go downtown (not every train on the purple line goes downtown, which is relevant because you guys are looking at one place in Evanston,) but not everywhere is near a train.

Also, I would recommend against the place in Wrigleyville because of the fucking Cubs fans.

So guys, today I applied for the perfect job ever. It is a job at the newspaper here working in advertising and with graphic designers and etc and although I wont get it (because I want it very badly, and that is how these things work) but I thought I should mention that if i DO happen to get it by some miracle then I won't be coming to Chicagocon. Because there is no way in hell I am giving up the chance of a publishing job in toowoomba to hang out with the internets.

(they are a very very very very rare thing)

I may or may not go. If I go, I will probably bring The Lady because if I don't she will yell at me for leaving her again. But I am leaning towards "not going". If I win this Albanian Idol thing I'll use the prize money to fund the trip (and help finance a new amp). That is very unlikely, though.
