Man, tickets sold out the morning they were announced, at least for all the east coast venues.

I can afford a ticket, but I can't afford a plane ticket on top of that, though at this point the west coast stuff is probably sold out too. My only real hope is that they add dates to the tour. What irks me, as with all tours, is how easily the scalpers get tickets. Paying a stupidly high price for a regular ticket would sting less if the money was going to Conan's peeps, but it ain't.

It is cool that Conan isn't taking a share of the profit from the tour and that it's all designated to go to his staff. Now THAT'S a cool boss.

I know I've complained about the writing style in Variety before an obviously it's a trade rag and I'm not the target audience but

What's kind of cool is they're basically telling George Lopez he's not a real late night host, adding someone else, and moving him back. At least that's how I like to see it.

George Lopez allegedly lobbied pretty hard on Conan's behalf. He wagers (probably correctly) that having Conan as a lead-in will boost his numbers.

Doesn't really represent the reality of it though. He'd been outspoken about being pro-Conan before and I've never heard anything about George Lopez that indicates he doesn't know how to handle his career or that he's got a big ego, really. The demographic he pulls in is disproportionately young men and young men are the people who actually watch Conan as opposed to merely taking his side against Leno. Pulling for Conan seems like the safe, smart and fan friendly move.
