Matt Holliday career at Coors Field: .356 BA, 84 HR, 312 RBI, .643 Slugging
Matt Holliday career everywhere else: .280 BA, 44 HR, 177 RBI, .455 Slugging

Granted, he had 65 more ABs at Coors, but unless he hit grand slams in all of them, seems like he's going to significantly devalue going from Coors to the Coliseum (where hitters go to die).

I'll give you Ubaldo Jimenez for him though!

Kosuke Fukudome is officially my favorite. I knew he was a ridiculously disciplined batter and a definite sleeper, but at this point I feel like there's absolutely nothing else I can ask for from such a late pick.

My ERA and WHIP could stand to dip a few points, but my pitching is wrecking house, so far this week. I have twenty-six strikeouts, and that's without a single appearance yet from Bedard, Chamberlain OR Santana, all of whom are capable of a double digit game.

My team is a well oiled machine.

I would perform compromising acts for your offense this week. Pretty ridiculous.

But, I see your 26 and raise you 36, thus far w/o Beckett or Danks, and with another start on tap from both Lester and Jimenez. Scott Downs is being an absolute monster right now, he's striking out at least 2 guys an inning.

I love my offense. While I don't really have a certified slugger anywhere in there, I have a bunch of guys who simply get the job done. I basically modeled my team after the '09 Red Sox: you don't need a fourty+ home run guy when you have a bunch of guys capable of knocking twenty.

I'm just hoping the Twins get Mauer back asap. Morneau is already playing pretty well but he should jump up another level if he gets to bat cleanup after Mauer again. I wish there was a way the Twins could afford to move Mauer to another position. He's too good to be missing so much time.

I'm seriously going to start drinking heavily if I lose the least strikeouts batting category. I would be crushing anyone else in that this week, and I pretty much built my team around stellar OBP guys.

My offense is carrying me, honestly. My pitching's been really good, but my opponent's been slightly better at not allowing runs. I should be fine, though, since I've still got starts from Bedard, Chamberlain, Santana and I THINK Arroyo and Pavano should each get one more. It'd take an act of god to keep me from absolutely dominating the innings pitched and strikeout categories.

Grady Sizemore: Seriously Good Dude.

Also re: pitching this week, I've got Maholm starting today, who's not stellar, but should be good for a quality start, plus Johnson, Lohse, and Gallardo pitching tomorrow, all of whom have been pretty consistently good for me thus far.  I am excited.  Innings Pitched about to skyrocket.

Carl Pavano is an all-time Yankee legend. Any team would be fortunate to have him.

The thing I find most amusing about that is that, despite what will go down as one of the most terrible showings by a team in professional sports history, the Marlins went on to win the World Series a scant four months later.

So, as it turns out, nightmare scenario comfortably averted. Meche gives up 6H, 2BB for 6K, QS and W against Texas.

I believe someone told me, "good luck with that". Thanks, it seemed to work.

You know what the worst thing about going to last night's game was? Nick Markakis hit a grand slam, leaving the bases QUITE EMPTY for Aubrey Huff, who I believe went 1-90 last night. God dammit! Also the drunk guy who incessantly booed Huff, despite my meager cry of "but dude, he's on my team!"

But they won! In semi-dramatic fashion. Come on, you had to have been much happier at the end of the ninth than you were in, oh, I don't know, the top of the 2nd.

Also, J.D. Drew = 1/David Ortiz? I THINK SO.

My friend claims Nick Green reached Bellhorn status last night.

Also, another funny bit from last night. Okajima comes in and doesn't completely suck.

Jon: Well, the ERA helps.
Me: Didn't you bench him?
Jon: FUCK!

Nick Green needs to strike out 4 times per 3 at bats to qualify for Bellhorn status.

Also, be bad at defense.

Man, I do love seeing Okajima pitch well... kinda need him since Lopez is a disaster thus far.

J.D. Drew = My fantasy MVP for the night. 2/2 with THREE walks and a home run. He almost had a stolen base, too (I think it was just a botched hit and run, honestly), but he got cut down.

Yeah, thank god I have a bit of a buffer. I had mostly hoped that Wang would play into my chew through tons of innings strategy, but you can't have everything.

Also, is anyone else excited about lefty batter Justin Morneau going up against Darren "I haven't started in five years" Oliver for a couple of innings? Because I am excited.

To understand how bad my team imploded last night, take this into consideration:

Alex got two epically horrid starts out of Chien-Ming Wang, who gave up 16 runs in 2.1 innings this week. That's a 61.71 ERA for the week.

ALEX IS AHEAD OF ME IN ERA.

ETA: Of course, it was really my offense that imploded. But I found that statistic rather frightening.

That's what you call your offense imploding? Shane Shane Shane, let me introduce you to my team.

Yesterday they went 5-37 (.135) with 2 runs and 2 RBIs. A .238 OBP and only 8 strikeouts were my offensive highlights for the day. If my pitching staff wasn't unfuckinghittable, I would be so unbelievably fucked.

To be fair, it's never like you were ever THAT far ahead on anything but batting average. I mean, I didn't think they'd collapse that badly, but your numbers were pretty ordinary aside from all the hits, so I was fairly certain it'd become a pretty close week when your guys dropped down to something more reasonable like a .320 batting. But yeah, then they went and threw up a stinkbomb.

Also, keep in mind that if I had gone with my gut and ended the Wang experiment early in favor of Kenshin, my pitching would have been rather sneaky-good. Not a lot of strikeouts, but a bunch of guys who can chew through a ton of innings and keep the ERA down.

Man, you inexplicably lost worse than I did last week. 'sup with that?

Seriously, though, it could've been worse. If Garza actually pitched like Garza today, you might not have actually won a single category.

You want to talk about fucked? Man, Matt, you got fucking robbed. One home run with a man on would've given you the win and, what's that? Ah yes, one of your hottest hitters sat today because of a postponed game. I nominate Matt for this week's "You Got Fucked" award.
