I'm still trying to figure out how you actually make a decent living (as most of the cast seems to) doing minimum wage jobs.

They live in an alternate universe in which Ronald Reagan never went into politics.

Workers make a living wage without the need for a federally mandated minimum.
Everyone as access to affordable health care.
People can grow up on space stations and have little robots to manage their Music/Porn collection.

And the proprietor of the sex shop is considered a pillar of the community.

Wow.  Angus could be the next Colmes!  (Or, alternately, he could be an MSNBC republican!)

Huh, every time I see Angus I fail to recognise him. It would be helpful if he had uh.. purple hair! Or something.

"And I really don't like the Faye/Angus thing. He just seems too flat of a character for him to have any relationships with the main cast."
(Sorry; I'm old and technologically impaired. I haven't figured out how to properly quote yet!)

There is this little button at the top right corner of each post that says 'Quote'. There.

(This is like the shortest WCT thread ever.)

Is it just me, or does Tai in black and white without her glasses look an awefully lot like Hanners? Maybe Jeff took HanTai shippers too literally and fused them both into one smokin' hot chick.

This is a Thing with my art, Tai and Hanners have similar hair except Hanners' is poofy and unkempt and Tai's is short and curly. I need to work at this.

I see what you mean. It's not that they're really the same, just that the differences are subtle. Without her trademark horn-rimmed glasses and someone to stand next to for scale, it's too easy to get them mixed up.

So, keep the horn-rimmed glasses and the poofy hair and the flat chest on Tai and the close cropped hair and the multiple rim piercings on Hannelore and no one gets hurt. =)

As for the Fangus shippers, how do you get from this:
http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1124
to getting groiny? I don't see it happening.

Dunno about anyone else but I'd like another Wil update... (it is Wil and not Will isn't it?)

A NOP? Wow, akronnick, you invented an acronym! I envy you.

I tried to create a slang term once, but it never took off: Gillooly. As in, We knew the visiting team would crush us, so we sneaked over the night before the game and gilloolied their bus.

I hope Jeph doesn't take your protest as a challenge. NOPs in QC twice is probably enough.

Not if it means another Naked Old Person.

There have been Naked Old Persons in strips with Marten, Faye, Penny and Dora (twice) as well as Wil.  I think I can bear the risk of them continuing to appear in new strips!

only 3 pages of WCT? What the hell?

What QC needs are more NOPs. Not nearly enough

Or maybe more NSPs? Of course, that would make QC LSFW. Like any of us are working.

As for the small WCT, these things cycle. Perhaps next week Hanners, who has the cash, will buy the GSX 9500 and 'complete' the BFbot with it. Then it goes on a rampage, pursuing Faye, who spurned it... kind of like Westworld , but sexier and with fewer killings. And the WTC will swell...

Of course, it may be a small WCT because all the US readers have been celebrating National Library Week. I know I have. Since next week is Administrative Professionals Week, maybe things will pick up.

This week was National Library Week? And no one reminded me?
I'm appalled.

Do they even have one in England?

I don't think so. But the 23rd is St. George's Day.

Here's a calender http://www.crayola.com/calendar/index.cfm?month=4&year=2009
And a sillier one http://www.epromos.com/calendar/promotional-calendar.html

My favorite 'month' is in May: High Blood Pressure Education Month (hoorah!). I know it's not what they mean, but it reads to me as though you're supposed to learn how to elevate your BP.

Some of us could probably teach lessons about that.

I like how in October these two things happen:

Down Syndrome Month October
Positive Attitude Month October

Yes they're unrelated but it's funny to read one after the other

Maybe Hanners could get more OCD about her hair. Although it looks really cute unkempt.

You don't. You can make a decent survival, but that's about it. There's nothing really spectacular about how they live their lives, really, except for Sven. Dora works her ass off with the coffee shop and manages to survive. The others don't really do much except buy thrift store clothes, play some music, and drink.

Sounds like most of my minimum wage friends, ;)

Remember back in the day when Faye gladly accepted free glasses (apartments etc etc) from men?

That's a good point, but she did offer to pay rent on the apartment (#127, #355).

So, would she accept glasses from Angus if he committed insurance fraud to get them, or would she refuse because he's too openly interested? It may be relevant that Marten didn't ask first (#68).

Too bad an all blueprint t-shirt with the two buddies going "Woo!" is out of the question. Or is it? 'Fraid so I'd say.

At least the fonts are back to their happy frivolous self.
And who would've known? Hannelore is bearable when she for once isn't instrumentalized to force a punchline.

You seem to have your weeks mixed up - is the change from high March dates too much to cope with?

Was for me.

In fact, I enjoyed 'High March' so much, I'm calling for us to change the calender to 5 months of 73 days each. Get ol' Ratzy on it. pronto. Then we can all vote on the new month names. I'm for First, Second, Middle, Nextolast, and Thatsit.

So long as the initials are different. While we're at this, let's replace Tuesday with Notmonday. As in, at least it's. And Saturday with... well, something, so each day can have it's own initial, too.
