finally picked up Strange Cousins From the West today.  was blown away by the packaging, anyway.  For one thing, I don't think I've ever seen anyone use a piece of cork to hold the cd in place before.

Oh man Shane, nice order!

Feedbacker came with this MASSIVE folded up poster of Wata, as well. I dunno what/where to do with it, since it's seriously like 3'x2'.

I also got in the mail yesterday a new Sony turntable and a set of Sony bookshelf speakers. Hells to the yes.

So he can smash is to pieces I hope. God I hate that song (Fat Bottomed Girls that is). Like...we're talking from the very depths of my soul here. Of course, at least it isn't Van Halen's Beautiful Girls i.e. quite possibly my vote for Worst Song of All Time.

The last bit of vinyl I'll be buying for a while. Need to save up money. Plus, this keeps me from going out and getting drunk this weekend (I have been doing that too much lately).

Lawrence Arms - "The Greatest Story Ever Told". My absolute favorite TLA album.

Man, good news/better news/bad news.

Good news is I found an original copy of KMFDM's Naive—not the remixed album with the green cover, not Metropolis’ reissue but the long-deleted one with the offending “O Fortuna” sample intact.  Better news is that it was in a used bin priced at $5 by someone who didn't realize how sought-after that disc is (minus an extra 20% off for Record Store Day). Fucking A!

Bad news is that the second half of the album won't play at all in my MacBook and plays with very noticeable distortion on my desktop PC.  There are no obvious scratches and it plays fine on my stereo, but I can't rip the damn thing to mp3 at all.  And since this is probably a once-in-a-decade find it's not like I'm gonna trade it in for a refund or replacement.

I was all like, "WOOOOO! .... ... Aw, shit."

My meager, poor boy record store day acquisitions:

Japandroids - Art Czars 7"
Dum Dum Girls - Jail La La 7"

I was sorely tempted by the new Gogol Bordello single - IT WAS ON LIME GREEN VINYL - but I spent that money on a pizza instead.

And I also got an Echo & the Bunnymen CD fer cheap.
