Help a Romantic Out?
« on: 20 Apr 2009, 23:57 »

Hello Music Thread,
My girlfriend and I were talking today, during our conversation she said how she hates her name. She said it was due to the fact that it is common yet so hard to find in anything. (Movies, T.V. shows, songs) This is where you come in. I want to prove her wrong and cheer her up, so I was wondering, is there a song with her name in it?

Oh yes, her name is Natasha.

There's a song called Natasha by Rufus Wainwright according to google.

More importantly, Natasha is one of the best characters on Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Deathmøle's "Sonic Texturalist" - but that's not a useful suggestion, I guess!

i've not actually heard it myself, but apparently Pig Destroyer did an almost hour-long song called Natasha, which is made up of churning disturbing noise...  probably best not tell her about that.

also, why not write a song about her!?  surely that's the most romantic solution to this?!

The heroine of Prokofiev's opera War and Peace is called Natasha.

I know this one girl who's name is Natasha and she's pretty cool but she's allergic to wheat and she's afraid of bats.

Or better yet, why not go onto iTunes and type "Natasha" into the search box?  Then make a mixtape composed of any song you find that you like and give it to her.

"Natasha" is also Italian for "Christ's birthday".  And he's a Sagittarius!  She gotta like archery.

She deserves to have a song written about her. QC forum, your next musical challenge!

Where did you hear that? I studied Italian for five years and never heard anything like that.

Yeah, it's a good one that. Some very nice sludgey parts, rather reminds me of Iron Monkey or maybe Stalingrad what with all the electronic gubbins.

OP, there are websites where you can find this sort of thing. Happy hunting.

"Natasha is a Russian female given name, originally a pet name of Natalia, which in turn derives from the Latin Dies Natalis, meaning "Natal Day" or "Birthday," in reference to the birth of Christ"
Wikipedia knows all

Then my point is made, I knew Natasha was not an Italian name.  The rest makes sense, though, good find!

a cursory look at google reveals that the name Natasha is one of the most popular pseudomyms in the porn industry.
perhaps mentioning this to her will boost her self esteem.
"Your name is frequently used to sell unrealistic depictions of sex to lonely guys who are clearly not getting any the entire world wide"
