Shuffle Up! - The Online Poker Thread
« on: 08 May 2009, 19:49 »

I mentioned I play online poker in the blog thread, so I thought I'd see if anybody else plays, for fun or profit, play money or cold cash.

I bought in on PokerStars about 3 1/2 years ago, and I've been playing with that same bankroll ever since, so I'm not too bad at it I guess. My main strength is that I'm disciplined enough to drop down to lower stakes when I'm losing, even though it always seems to take at least 5 times as long to win it back than it did to lose it.

I generally stick to Texas Hold 'em cash games, both fixed and no-limit. I dabble in tournaments and sit-n-goes, and have tried a bit of Omaha Hi/Lo for fun.

One of the things I do is keep a spreadsheet record of every session and tournament, so I can't fool myself into thinking I'm a better player than I am. I know exactly how much I've won or lost at every stakes level and game type.

I also know, because I copied and saved the hand histories, that I've had 7 royal flushes.  :-D
