Hanner's Hair

Is Hanner's naturally blonde? She scrubbed herself with bleach once so she might do it often, but does it include her hair?

Dora had the same question in #633. I can't remember ever seeing a definitive canonical answer. If I could remember what her mother looked like, that would be inconclusive.

yes, Hanners' mum was blonde. But again, that doesn't mean much.

I always just assumed she was naturally blonde, what with her mother having the same hair color, but you never know! Never really thought about it until now.

Unbeknownst to most readers, Hannelore is actually bald. She wears a wig.

It's more sanitary to shave everything, y'know.

It would not surprise me one bit if she were bald with a wig. And to be honest, I liked it when she had the long, straight hair like when we first met her. I know it may not be very in-character for her, but I liked the look.

Hanners has actually given herself a haircut:  Hanners cut her hair, as well as been given a trim by Faye:  Faye cuts Hanners hair.  Somebody should have noticed if it were a wig at this point.

Which raises a remote possibility silly enough to be worthy of QC.

What if she wears a wig that's one of her father's inventions, using nanotechnology to synthesize continuously growing hair-like fiber out of dirt and dust, thus keeping it clean? There's not a lot of dirt and dust in Hannelore's environment, therefore it grows slowly, which explains why it's the same length it was before the Great Time Jump when the season changed to winter.

i hadn't thought she could be anything other than blonde. of course, until we found out dora was a natural blonde i'm sure most of us never entertained that idea either. you never know! but, her mother's blonde, and hair-dye seems like it would freak her out (everything does).

Yeah I was wondering if hair dye would trigger her OCD as well. There's no body fluids involved and no one would be touching her if she did it herself, but you never know hah.

not to mention, hair dye is messy as shit. it permeates everything and gets under your fingernails when you're washing it out... it stains bathroom furniture and the like if you aren't careful. (although i suppose bleach wouldn't be near as problematic as any other color) either way... hanners would probably freak out pretty hard. as far as stylists go, i couldn't imagine her doing well in that situation. hannelore is pretty socially awkward, and i don't think she would let anyone touch her that she didn't trust, let alone a stranger.

what if she was drunk? she's pretty lackadaisical when she's tipsy. Hell, Faye hugged her into sleep and she cleaned up vomit whilst drunk.

i don't think she uses hair dye, we know she scrubs herself with bleach (when she locked herself in CoD bathroom). that would certainly turn her blond if used in small quantities.

I wouldn't put in past her, but to be pedantic she said she was bleaching her clothes and scrubbing off her skin.

Dora mentioned being blond maybe 1000 strips ago, long before Hanners was around.

Ha!  I like this idea.   :-D  Actually, everytime Hanner's Dad is mentioned, I picture Professor Membrane: http://www.roomwithamoose.com/pictures/official/membrane.jpg  Or at least, I imagine him talking like that character.
