Paul Giamatti is in a movie called Cold Souls that is about a guy who gets his soul extracted to be put into storage, and his soul looks like a chickpea. There's a story in the New Yorker where he muses and describes other people's souls, like how Willie Nelson's would be an ear of roasted corn, Kim Jong-Il's would be a crazy box of crabs, and Merle Haggard's would be a powerful but rusty engine block.

So I figure you guys are at least as creative as Paul Giamatti, right?

I think Garrison Keillor's would be a Welcome to the Lake! sign, maybe because the word that describes him the most is "folksy". Zooey Deschanel would be a small ivory pearl. Patrick from Albanian Idol (was it Star Akademi?) (I think I am so funny with that one)would be a well worn yellowish guitar pick. Liz would be a green medium high heel with a strap. Johnny C might be a beard hair.

Prince would be a purple, frilly bible.

Bryan would be a small concentrated ball of disappointment.

Steve Albino would be a road-worn guitar.

Also I remember when that movie hit at the indie film festivals a few years back and not a lot of people liked it.

I haven't seen the movie nor looked anything up; I was just mostly a little amazed at how astute his observations were. I kept going "hey that's about perfect!", mostly about the country singers one, and about what people would assume for him.

John, I think you might be a little usb drive.

And if I was any better at Gimp, I'd probably try to make Steve albino.

My soul would be an old book, read and reread so many times that the front cover and the spine have to be held together with tape. Probably paperback, reeking of nostalgia. Maybe not even necessarily a good book, but one that's read just because its there.

Tyler's soul would be a beaten-up old baseball mitt that somebody scrawled rainbows and stars on in glitter paint.

It seems too easy to say Jodie's soul would be a reclining black cat but it makes so much sense goddamnit.

Robbie's soul would be the clouds around the top of a mountain.

I have my own theories about what my soul would be but I want to hear what someone else comes up with.
