I don't often make friends with the people who serve me coffee/food/alcohol/blahblahblah. I'd hardly call it a continuity error. If he hadn't become friends with Faye, Dora would be "the girl in the coffee shop".

You know a comic is going to be bad if the first strip is like "So, we're two guys sitting on a couch, no one will want to read this."

I c wat u did thar.

Love the anime action lines behind Marigold's face in panel 5. I actually went though a "Oh God People, Why" phase, and I've done this before. Though never in front of 2 way glass :)

Oh, now this one made me laugh hard.  The full-cast (well, the main cast, anyway) lineup in the last panel is too perfect.

Wasn't there a strip consensus about the ethics of betting on other people's mental health?

Without Faye, Dora might have pounced on Marten. Sara thought about asking him out, and Dora was just the type who'd go ahead and do it.

Dora's the designated mother hen for the night. Hanners is there to support Marigold, and Faye's being Faye. Which means Marten's dead meat, as usual.

Wednesday strip has been marinated in awesomesauce and topped with epic win.

Mother Hen is a good descritpion for Dora. i tend to look at her and Marten as Husband and wife, while Faye and Hanners are there daughters, all in a symbolic sense of course.

This comic reminds me of a bar in Vegas, just off Fremont St... Downtown Cocktail Room (or just "Downtown" cause that's all the sign says).  There's an alcove in the wall face underneath the sign, but it looks like it's just walls on either side and a pane of mirrored glass in the middle... like so:  |_________|  Turns out one of the walls is a door that you push open.  And the funniest part is it's SUPER dark in there and the mirrored glass is really a one-way window/mirror so you can watch people trying to figure out where the door is.  The bathrooms are worse.  The stall walls are one-way mirrors with no handles, so you have to figure out which mirror is the door... while you're inside doing your business, you can see right out into the main part of the bathroom... it's extremely disorienting especially when someone else comes in the bathroom.  You can see them but they can't see you.  Unless you're checking your cell phone while doing your business... any source of light and you're exposed.

This is the first comic in a while where the joke was completely unexpected and hilarious. Marigold might not look much different, but we can't read how she smells, can we?

Speaking of odd toilet doors: There was a toilet in a Berlin restaurant where the doors of all the stalls were made of clear glass. No mirroring anywhere, you can see through both sides. Only when you go inside, close the door, and turn the lock, the glass becomes white instantly. Now that is pretty cool.

Exactly. If you think of any slobby, unclean people you know, the noticeable uncleanliess is not necessarily visible. It's smell, and sometimes demeanour. Not necessarily something that can be drawn. Plus, it's not like Momo could clear up her acne in one shower.

Haha, that made me laugh. The world would be wonderful if everyone constantly made friends like in the QCniverse. We started with so few characters and mostly thanks to random introductions TADA! Here we are.

In other news, the people in the background of the last panel look really confused/scared/shocked. Why? Maybe because the girl with red hair behind Marten is flashing.

Is it me or does this seem to be the wrong comic. I saw this one early last night and according to his twitter he was still working on today's comic. I just checked again and his twitter says he is finally done with today's comic 11hours ago which was after this comic posted so im thinking he forgot to upload the newest comic. Also this comic is dated yesterday. Anyways just thought i might of missed something.

Or maybe they're watching Marigold struggling to open the bar door and wondering "WTF is her problem?" After all, unlike our main cast, they don't know that Marigold is socially inept-what would you think if you saw some woman acting like Marigold, and she was a total stranger?

It's you. As I understand it, the comics are posted basically in the middle of the night Jeph-time (What that means for you, I don't know, but here it means they come up at about 3-4 in the afternoon most days). So the comic for the 5th could be posted late at night on the 4th. The one that is up now (Marigold and the door) is for Wednesday the 5th. Jeph has done then next one in advance so that he can have the day off.

guess im just going off of his tweets which had him still drawing the comic after this one was posted. Also they mentioned panel one being extremely hard and i'm not an artist but panel one here doesnt seem to be all that hard. Not as hard as some of the ones ive seen him do. Anyways im prolly wrong but thot id point it out.

jeph did this recent comic and the next back-to-back, as opposed to on different days, to give himself a day off.

and i do think marigold looks more groomed than normal. she's apparently brushed her hair, and i assume she isn't a stinkybutt.

ah reminds me of my first girlfriend in high school.  met at the dance went out for a week, but I realized she only bathed to go to the dance, and didnt bath after...  After I broke up with her I could always tell she was nearby...the smells...were smelly.

Ergh, it certainly isn't pleasant for much people. I'm surprised Marigold didn't run out!

I love fancy outfit waiter, I guess that explains why the bar had some when Marten and Angus ordered them the one night! Hanners and Faye's faces in the third panel is cute as fuuuck! I don't know why Faye's is cute, but it is.
