Halloween Themed Dance Music?
« on: 17 Oct 2009, 02:40 »

Does it exist?

Aside from Thriller, I'm having a pretty hard time thinking of anything. Reason I need to think of something is cause apparently I'm helping DJing at the student union halloween night.

Any ideas?

I would say E Nomine but it is probably too cheesy for most peoples tastes.

E Nomine - Lucifer
E Nomine - Mitternacht
E Nomine - Vater Unser

Other things you might consider of course:

Bobby 'Boris' Pickett & The Cryptkickers*
The Crazy World of Arthur Brown - Fire
The Ghastly Ones - Halloween (She Got So Mean)
The Meteors - Slow Down You Grave Robbing Bastard
Ministry - Every Day is Halloween
Zombina and the Skeletones - Horror Highschool

I could extemporise on this subject at quite enormous length but I gotta go to work.

*Couldn't find a youtube version without the background noises.

If you can't dance to The Cramps, you probably shouldn't be out on Halloween.

With the emphasis on dance:

Bottin - Horror disco
Deadmau5 - Moar ghosts & stuff
Designer Drugs - Zombies (or the Hot Pink Delorean remix for some "bonus" Thriller action)
Riton & Primary 1 - Who's there (Style of eye remix)

Wouldn't really have had that down as extremely danceable.

Zombie Nation. I forget if that's the song or artist name, but it's awesome all the same.

I don't know why you would listen to anything but the Misfits on Halloween

but the music sucks because the keyboards don't have the cold/mechanical sound they had but a wannabe techno sound that it's pathetic for Rammstein standars.

Hmm...here are two classics:

Ministry - Everyday is Hallowe'en
Skinny Puppy - Dig It
Front 242 - Headhunter

And some new stuff:
Zombie Girl - Go Zombie
Unter Null - Zombie Boy
Noisuf-X - Geh Zur Holle(calm down mix)
Hit Me Hard(and hit me fast)
              Nervous Beatz (for maniac freaks)
Soman - Absolution
            Divine (modulate remix)

Give me a bit and I'll scrounge a few more if you like these.

Well if stuff that has "zombie" in the name is Halloween-appropriate, put on "Zombie" by Fela Kuti. I mean, sure, it's not so much a Halloween song as it is a scathing criticism of the Nigerian army from the 1970s, but (A) it's fucking awesome, (B) you can't not dance to it, and (C) it'll use up a good twelve minutes of your radio slot.
