Now there's only one game left. And thanks to Jens' drop-out, I'm leading the table. Woo!

Anyone that knows how to get games with strangers? Is it just to drop "hay any1 want to play" in the irc, or is there more to it?

http://fumbbl.com/help:FindingGames

The games I played against strangers I would wait until there was a likely looking matchup on Gamefinder and then add my team and PM them. I never used the IRC.
I must admit it looks like it might be easier to do via IRC though.

It's a lot easier using IRC.
I used to have to search around for ages using PMs trying to find a game.
But using IRC, you often get 3 people at once asking you.

Dependant on how many teams you have, of course.

no no, Jens pulled out for time reasons, as far as points are concerned you are going to have what counts as a win.

Yeah, both you and me, who both had games against him, got two free points in the tourney. We didn't get any ssp, though, so that's a plus. On the other hand, we could have had a lot of deaths, so I guess it's a trade-off.

If Merric wins this one, do I have to play him again to see who's the CHAMPION?

If Merrick wins then you and him go into the playoffs as the Eastern division representatives to play the top 2 from the Western division. Stephen was 1st so he will play 2nd place Eastern and Pat was 2nd so he will play 1st place Eastern.

Your game was forfeited since it took too long for it to happen. We will start the finals pretty soon.

My entire team was gone, and I still managed to score. Some people seems to prefer bashing to scoring, but I kinda see the money price as an extra reroll.

For the next tournament I propose we decide ahead of time what to do if someone drops out and either figure out how to set up a game that goes into overtime or decide how to resolve a tied-game that occurs in the playoffs.

Actually, for all you stunty fans out there a few of us (so far me, Stephen, Pat) have joined this group:

OCCS Stunty Series

which is a group run by more experienced members of the FUMBBL community than ourselves and they host several tournaments each month starting on the 15th of every month (except December when the big tourney is).

The entry-level tourney is the Spike "Kick It Open" for teams up to 100TR (brand new teams fit this category).

All you need to do is create a stunty team in [L]eague (not [Stunty]) and apply to join the group and tourney and you will be in.

Ok folks, some of us are finishing up a official Stunty tourny and I'm hoping to get a few more folks in. The tourny is Round robin and you get something like a full month to get all the games done, so it's a pretty relaxed schedule.

You would make a Team in LEague, make sure they are stunty, and apply them to the following group:

http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=group&op=view&group=5554

The next tourny should start accepting applications shortly, so if you want to join, make a fresh stunty team and lets GET IT ON!

Edit - Here is the Forum thread for the tourny. http://fumbbl.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=13235&start=150

btw, did I tell you about the two players with bomb?

and the two others with ball&chain?

In case you haven't noticed, Games Workshop has written fumbbl a letter asking them to take down the site.

Fuckers.

I've signed the petition, and I think I'll send a mail complaining, if I have time - this is after all their consumers and not at least fans they are fucking over. Any reactions?

I noticed the letter but it seems more that the legal division of GW is doing all of this work to protect their patents and copyrights so that they can legally renew them. However, (hopefully) it is possible that they won't have to take down the site at all and only remove a few things until GW get the copyrights and patents renewed.

There has been a lot of overreaction about this but the bombarding of the GW legal department is a good thing because often the lawyers are dicks who just care about the amount of money being made from the merchandise itself.

I don't know, this seems like a legit thing, and I doubt GW will back down. They can be complete dicks about their IP, it's probably a function of British copyright law and GW going balls-out to ensure there's no chance of losing rights to anything. (Also I'd say the LotR stuff has a part to play, because I believe they're under a very strict licence there.) It sucks, but they are (legally) in the right here. Not that I think restrictive control over IP is a good idea for a company that wants to portray itself as hobbyist-focussed.

Then again, Alien Assault managed to get away with it by minor fluffing, so who knows?

Horrors of Tzeentch absolutely sucked. A Firewyrm with ST6 and ball&chain can do massive damage, yes, but it has 4 move, and for every move, there's a 1/6 chance of failing, and causing a turn over. The pro means that it's more like... 1/12 chance on every move, but with two fireworms, you have to hope for 1/12 eight times before you can even start using the rest of the team, which is the part that's supposed to do stuff.

Bomb wasn't reliable at all, you could use it with the wyrms at short range and hope, but the Flamers only have AG3, and even a quick pass is hard to make for them. Throw team mate isn't reliable enough to make these guys good either. I'd much prefer a treeman or lots of move or whatever.

No, it seems to have been taken down from the site. All of the downloads in the essentials folder have been removed. Presumably this is to do with the copyright thing but all I know is that you can't get them from the FUMBBL site any more.

It just occurred to me that I should link the Living Rulebook 5. It's not the edition Fumbbl currently uses, but if you plan to get the PC game at any point, or in the case that Fumbbl officially updates, it will be useful to keep up with the skills and rosters.
