Pancake or death?

That picture gave my stomach a boner. Physiologically impossible, yes.
But damn near true.
Oh, can I get coffee instead of tea with that pancake? Two creams, two sugars.

EDIT: TR, that pancake is almost too cute to eat. I'd probably look down at it on my plate, half of its head gone, syrup thick like blood. All ashen colored with the sugar.
...
*choked up* I need a moment, guys.

I hope tomorrow's strip continues this conversation, so that we only get the silent-movie pantomime version of the Dora/fursuit interaction in the background.

I agree with Tai.

As usual.

Its not a matter of everything having to fit with her masturbatory fantasies, its the shortage of solid queer characters in popular fiction.   Its just nice to have main characters we can relate to.

I probably would read "Antoinette Banemoon and the Case of the Airship Automatons," being a sucker for steampunk themes.

Great furries' moment with Dora for background humor, made me laugh.

Edit Add: Also reminded me of another great furries moment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zB_1SK0I_sM

Jimbo might totally misrepresent a gay character and perpetuate negative stereotypes.  We're probably all better of if he lets homosexual authors write homosexual characters because they actually know what they're doing.

Clever strip. English language plurals confuse me (they're so unnecessary), but Airship Automata has a better rhythm, and added alliterative appeal. Since automaton is derived from the Greek αὐτόματος rather than Latin, shouldn't the plural be automatoi?  :police:

Dora (is that the plural of Dorum?) should have known better than to attach a tail anywhere around furries. It must be the equivalent of a guy having a coloured handkerchief hanging out of his back pocket...

I missed Jimbo - not enough to ask for his return, but enought that this was welcome.

What should BR do with polls this week?

Less trying to be funny, more relevance to the comic  7 (20%)
More spellchecking  7 (20%)
Pancakes  21 (60%)

Now, for your pancakes, there may be bacon on the side, maybe not.   And as to killing myself for Thanksgiving - you'll have to wait til October 2010, that's when my Thanksgiving is (being a Canuck).

Way too much weirdness.  This is an ill omen for Monday.

Didn't even see Dora at first.  Her tail brought to mind an old neighbor.  Tails may be cute sometimes on hot girls, but on an overweight furry with issues they're not that cute...especially when said neighbor is a guy that wears said _hot pink_ tail all the time.  Damn it Jeph, now I'm going to have flashbacks.  Now Marten's going to have to deal with the eventuality of Dora getting a buttplug tail.

Jimbo's book reminds me more of the Anita Blake books.  They slowly devolve into stranger & stranger territory, adding powers until the sex is more plausible and normal then the rest of the (shrinking) plot.  Maybe after 3-5 more volumes they can make a overproduced movie out of it and let the porn studios rape it further.

Will Hanners encounter the furries? Will a Pintsize/Jimbo slash ever happen?  What would Faye do to the furries?

Between this, the memories, and work it's no wonder I need a drink after work.  Jeph should be the one with the Lovecraft avatar.

hate to say it but isnt Jimbo just out to sell his books?  So he would want to attract a large audience, so he would throw vampires and werewolves (cough twilight) steam punk, and heteros.

Normative, wordstem Norm, as in "Standard, Unchangeable".

Seriously, though, hearing about a random novel about a heterosexual romance, from a heterosexual author known for his heterosexual romances, and berating the author for being heteronormative?  That's a wee bit obsessive.

(Of course, I'm sure Tai was mostly joking.)

How do you pluralize automaton?
Automatons.

THIS.  IS.  ENGLISH!

It's perfectly acceptable to pluralize foreign origin words with an S.  Knowledge of Greek or Latin grammar isn't a prerequisite for English.  And it's a good thing too because we would fail; look how many people pluralize octopus as octopi (wrong wrong totally wrong: it's octopodes) or virus as virii (again wrong: virus was a mass noun with no plural form).  So: octopuses, viruses and automatons!  whoo!

*EDIT* spelling
