Hi all! Long time, no see for a lot of you on this forum! (I've been a member since...2006ish? Possibly 2007?)

Anyway - Christmas started the Day after Thanksgiving for me! I love this time of year! My favorite Christmas song is the instrumental version of Sleigh Ride and anything by Mannheim Steamroller.

...and I'm afraid I'm starting to talk like Randy the Bandicoot...so, I'll skedaddle.

I am cooking my first ever Christmas lunch this for, for me & the boy. I am scared & excited in equal measures.

I have done all my Christmas shopping as I have to give it to my Mum when she comes up to say hi next weekend.

I am not normally excited about Christmas, but I think I am this year. Mainly as the boy is the most Bah Humbug man you WILL EVER MEET.

As in last year he spent Christmas day on his own & had a pot noodle for foods.

This was all by choice.

I guess my parents are getting majorly lazy now that they've got no kids living at home.  We don't have a christmas tree this year :( and none of the decorations are out, and the stockings aren't hung :/

My dad wasn't planning on having a tree this year.
He wasn't planning on having all the traditional Christmas foods either.

Jens and I showed him the error of his ways.
He is now £180 poorer.

According to that logic, we either have a christmas aloe vera or a christmas weed.

If by 'weed' you are referring to Cannabis, then you sir are in possession of the most awesome Christmas decoration ever.
And you don't have to throw it out after New Years! If it's still around by then...
If you are not talking about a pot plant, definitely go with the Aloe.

Here is my Christmas present to all of you - Rise of the Triad. I got it for Christmas when I was 10 years old. Added bonus - The game can tell when it's Christmastime, so I just started it up and instead of the normal music it plays "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" when you're blasting away at cult members.

Seasons Greetings to you all.

I have one load of (five) grandchildren for lunch tomorrow, my daughter and some friends the next day, then off to Germany (BA and weather permitting) for a few days with the other lot (two).  Meanwhile, I've wrapped going on a hundred packages, and I've got a week and a half's ironing to catch up on (my wife's doing some emergency knitting to try and get it done in time).

As someone just said on the TV: "Christmas is worse than a kitten, because you can't put it in a sack and drown it".

We celebrated tonight, and it was lovely, if I just ignore my cousin and his son. I didn't get a lot of gifts, but the ones I got were pretty good, and the food was delicious, and my parents calmed down from their usual Christmas Eve-freakout around 3PM, and I even got warm quickly after being incredibly, ridiculously cold when we visited the cemeteries. Overall, it was a pretty good day, after noon.

I liked our tree this year! You can't really see much of the decorations in this photo, other than the tinsel and flags, but still. It's a pretty good tree, considering it's not fake.
