for a guy growing up never knowing his father, to then find out his father was indirectly responsible for his surrogate father (Owen) and directly responsible for the death of his mentor (Ben) and is the 2nd most evil person in the galaxy, I say he did pretty well for himself. Peter Cushing smelled faintly of a grand country garden and forgotten glories. Admittedly to an uncultured brat like Luke that could have been mistaken for a foul stench, but that just means vader should have given him some nasal reconstruction while he was about it.
