Thomas Edison's Scientific Wrapping of Wonder
« on: 22 Dec 2009, 16:59 »

It's Christmas time, there's mistletoe and wine and it's nearly one fucking A.M and I'm working up until Christmas, so this is my last chance to do some wrapping. I've been working next to an ice rink for the last 48 hours, so I think my brain is bitten by the frost, but I decided to share my wrapping fun with you guys, if only to keep myself sane. So here's my bandwith munching guide to wrapping your beloved ones presents.

First things first, be awesome.

Close enough. Secondly, get your weapons.

Sellotape(TM) and a pair of scisssoooors. As well as....

Wrapping paper, god yessss. You'll also want some presents.

Oh sweet, here's some I bought earlier! I'll be using a cute Disney charity mug I bought my girlfriend in this example. It comes in an awesome box.

But the shape means it's a bit harder for my to wrap than the usual DVD.

So I bang it on there upside down so most of the excess paper will be at the bottom, and go to town with my pair of snippers. Straight cut up the side, then confundle it all together.

Then you have fun with the sticky tape.

This is important because it keeps the paper together and means the other person doesn't know what they're getting! Anything could be in that paper wrapped bundle from delicious cake to an oxygen deprived kitty!

And then you basically repeat the procedure until you're surrounded in cool.

WARNING.

Scissors are fucking sharp. Don't run, skate, slide, ballet or perform any kinds of daredevil stunts when holding a pair. You could slice your head off or, even worse, hurt that pretty face of yours.

Also: KETCHUP MOUSTACHE

So how do you guys wrap up for your beloved friends and lovers and family?

You look like a fella I used to work with.

Also, I am really very terrible at wrapping presents. This is not aided by the fact that I always leave Christmas shopping until the very last minute (and this year is no different).

Man I love wrapping presents. One of these years I am going to buy nice paper and tags and ribbons and make my gifts look really nice. As of now I am using Rudolph wrapping paper (as in the movie). I am going to wrap gifts today! So excited!

I am the worst present wrapper ever.

I am at least partially convinced that the ability to wrap gifts well requires ovaries.

Honestly the best way to wrap is to just cover it in paper and sticky tape, guys.

Also thank you all for the kind words about my face.

I am terrible at wrapping, and I have ovaries. This year wrapping has been interesting at least.

The time I spent working in a toy store with all of the ridiculously shaped boxes and packaging meant I learned to wrap just about anything fairly well.

I think I'm pretty good at wrapping. I credit that to the pair of ovaries in the fridge more than anything else though.

I ran out of wrapping paper so I wrapped one sister's gift in newspaper. She rolled her eyes.
