Australians, BE AWARE
« on: 07 Jan 2010, 18:52 »

Dear Australia (and QC),

I know you and I haven't spoken much of late but I do still appreciate your presence in my life. As such I will be making a visit to Sydney starting 13th February through 21st February. I'm staying with Jimmy about half that time and will be ambling about Sydney with my girlfriend.
Following this we shall move on to Melbourne on the 22nd til the 28th. Essentially we're following Faith No More around...

We should hang out, Australians. I propose that should you feel Twilight Dracula enough you should come to Die Maschine on the 13th and goth it up. Can you dig it?

I'm kind of shitty at catching up with people once I'm actually in their country so we really ought to organise something now. I can't do 21st due to Soundwave but I'm pretty much free otherwise I think.

Enough rambling. Lets hang out. Also, recommend things to do. We've been to Taronga zoo and seen the inner harbour. What else is fun?

Oh and another thing. My presence in Sydney will be permanent from approximately August as I'm sick of Auckland and have finally decided to MAKE THE MOVE. Now it's in text it's official. GET EXCITED.

See you all soon.

Rizzo

p.s. I might stop posting when I reach 1337, cause you know, that's cool right?

p.p.s. Can I assume that none of you have changed your numbers? I (as usual) will have a new phone number upon arrival. However, if you have changed please message me it or something. FUNISH ME WITH DETAILS GODDAMN YOU.

Freaking YES, Rizzo in Sydney.
My number is still the same and has been the same ever since I had a phone!
I am not entirely keen on gothing it up but maybe I will try for you and Jimmy.
This time I can actually have time off work too so maybe I can play hostess one day or something.
Funnily enough you visited last time I had just moved house so I could not offer drinkies at mine. I will have just moved house by this time as well but I am sure ViolentDove and I can knock something up at the sweet new digs.

Also, Lunchbawkz, Keen also. Dovey seemed nice last time around. Let's do drinks. Perhaps a Wednesday for maximum awkwardness?

Whereabouts are you staying in Melbourne? North of the river, south of the river, or somewhere in the city (or none of the above, unlikely as that seems)? If you're north or in the city I'd suggest a night out Brunswick Street, cliche though it is - for no more than twenty to thirty dollars in door charges it's possible to venue-hop between a number of different gigs in a very small area - or just go to Bar Open (old faithful) where there's no cover charge and there's always great music that's pretty much guaranteed to be danceable. Of course I'm pretty sure my taste in music differs enormously from yours, but whatever.

D'awwww

I was originally going to post something to the effect of "OZCON 2 LET'S DO THIS" but then I realised that I really should not be making interstate trips all willy-nilly when I am trying to save! I probably won't even be making a stop in Sydney on my way to the U.S because it's apparently cheaper to just go straight from Perth to NYC? Sorry!

Gonna be staying on Hoddle st, so just down the road from Brunswick st. Sounds like a goer to me. I'm into a bit of everything, so long as it's not too twee. My girlfriend Liz is fairly similar. Message me your number as I don't have it any more due to phone crashage.

Also, Fatty, Eris I no longer have your numbers either.

And Perth is an awfully long and expensive distance, it's ok. I had mixed up ViolentDove with DDovey. D'oh. WHOEVER IS AROUND SHOULD HANG OUT BUT DONT MAKE TOO MUCH EFFORT AS IM NOT SO EXCITING IN REAL LIFE.

It should be noted that I am AWARE of this, and while I'd love to head up to Sydney again, I am unfortunately rather committed to various projects this month, I will however continue to be in Melbourne (or at least the vague vicinity thereof) and would be up for minor hangouts or similar if harry and rizzo will tolerate me.

RIZZO! I AM GOING TO SOUNDWAVE!

I will be in Sydney that weekend, so we can probably catch up at some stage, I can't really get to Sydney before that (note: month in Europe, two maxed out credit cards, no money).

It would be awesome to hang out. My phone number should be the same, but as of the moment I cannot reply to texts or make calls (note: month in Europe, obscene global roaming fees).

I'm picking Riz and Liz up from the airport (yay taxis) and bringing them back to mine. Evidently Lunchy is coming over and we'll go grab some lunch or whatever. I've got work in the afternoon so you guys do whatever from 3 - 8pm and then Riz, Liz, Ingelise and I are going to the Lansdowne to see my brother's band, Murder of Crow, and then off to Taylor's on Central because Riz and Liz want to hit Die Maschine (and so do I).

I don't have a lot of plans for the Sunday. Ingelise and I would usually cook dinner for ourselves and be all romantic and such. This is not a big deal if we end up doing something else.

I have had a horrible revelation that my payday is the 14th which this month falls on a Sunday so I won't have any money at all till Monday or Tuesday because my bank is silly.

Don't think I could handle Die Maschine though, sorry. Could be up for a shit $5 pub meal at the Lansdowne though?

Just a note: I have a spare ticket for Soundwave. My stepsister's friend can't go anymore, so she's selling the ticket. $130 or whatever you want to offer for it, selling it before Sunday is far more important. If any of you want to go, let me know!

Also, Rizzo, my number hasn't changed, but I don't seem to have yours anymore.
