Mogwai is currently auctioning off a keyboard they used on their 2006/7 tour to raise money for Haiti relief. The winner apparently gets a bunch of other stuff too including a "vinyl test pressing of the upcoming Mogwai album Special Moves." Am I totally out of the loop not knowing this existed or is this news to other people too?? Either way, all I can say is "fuckin' sweet!" Mogwai is such a consistently great band and The Hawk is Howling is a damn fine record so anything new from them is always a cause for celebration in my book.

Recently on the band's website they announced the imminent release of their first live film (tentatively called Burning) and live album (called Special Moves). Both will contain content from their Brooklyn shows during their 2008/2009 American tour.[5]

so a live album. should be good!

From the band's website:

Mogwai's first live album will be released on Rock Action Records this spring. Released alongside the live film Burning. The formats will be CD and DVD and limited deluxe triple vinyl box set which will also include the dvd of Burning, set lists and a poster. The artwork was designed by Aidan Moffat.
