I went with Chris to the Sloan show. Chris Murphy threw a pick at me, and after the show Chris and I hung out with him for a bit and chatted. Guy was hella chill. Also I got him, Patrick, and their keyboard dude to sign the lining of my hat.

Chris and I wound up spending most of the show (including the openers) chilling with this Israeli dude just because I told him his vest was rad. Guy was pretty cool. He decided we were rad, so he got us both some Sloan stickers at the merch stand.

Also Chris you're a fucking badass for bringing that tambourine. Them ladies behind us were hella begging the guys to get you onstage.

Blaggy,

The stuff going on is so weird that even I don't fully believe it, so I've just kind of given up on it and ignoring it all. Instead! Instead I've somehow managed to woo the woman who owns the art gallery with my photography, and she wants me to be in a show in June! It has to be June because she wants to try and get me some kind of art grant to pay for the matting and framing and printing costs, which has to be done in May. And I may or may not be in a band! Things are looking up.

So Ive decided its time to renew my 'look'. Im going to start with a moustache soul patch combo, possibly very very tiny handlebar but more likely kind of dirty like Johnny Depp's, as well as get more distinctive glasses.

Im moderately attractive and dress well, but over all its completely boring which is entirely at odds with what kind of girls I am attracted to. Its like right now Im trying to win people over on my personality which isnt readily apparent, you actually have to talk and listen and warm up to me before it will work. Whereas looks get the job done quicker.

So, after a awful beginning in the robotics competition taking place at my school, we actually finished second overall. Which is incredible, btw. If only Rosemount Tech didn't have an advance of about 3000 points, we would've beat them up in the last round. (I know you guys have no idea.)
Right after the competition, I went to Montreal to go see Owen Pallett's show which was perfect and beautiful. God, I love that man.
Anyways, I'm tired, I'll explain more tomorrow.

With love,
Anthony

Chris you were laying in my bed just this morning, don't lie to poor Dovey.

Blogwise, it's been a Saturday night and I have been 100% by my lonesome the whole time and it sucks. I still have the '21' stamp on my hand from last night, which has not been disappearing no matter how hardcore I scrub that hand. Curse this California climate, all drying out my skin to the point of this happening.

In other news, I just realized, through reading a few articles, why many recordings from the '50s and '60s sound kinda fuzzy and have poor sound definition. Fun side effect of early loudness wars.

The past few days have been a blur of really awesome things, including LARPing, olympic swordfighting, parkour, hardcore punk shows and hanging with an old childhood friend. Not sure I've ever experianced so much awesome condensed into so little time. Boring everyday life will be returning tomorrow though.

Gemm I know how you feel, I'm exhausted all the time at the moment. I've got two supervisions this afternoon and there's no way I'll get all the reading done in time. Thankfully I did a bit of one of them over a week ago, otherwise I'd be starting from zero two hours before I have to go.

I cannot wait until Easter, I'm going to spend the first day asleep.

Yesterday was the longest day of my life. My grandma had a very, very severe heart attack at church. It took 13 minutes for the paramedics to arrive. She went into ICU at around 4pm and for the last 12 hours has been in a medically induced paralysis and heavily sedated. We are going to the hospital soon to see if she has brain function and if she is concious. She's a tough lady, but she can only take so much. I'm really scared.

Good thoughts for your grandma, and you and your family, Allison. {{hugs}}

Had my own scare this morning, but it came out OK. I was walking to catch light rail to school, and fire trucks were invading the neighborhood like crazy. As I get close to where they're heading, I look down a side street on my path and see that they're all parked in front of my brother-in-law's house where he and my nephew live. I can't see shit for all the trucks, flashing lights, and smoke from a burning house, and I don't go over there often enough to recognize exactly which place is theirs from so far away. Finally, I hear that nobody was in the burning house, so there were no injuries, and I finally remember that I have my nephew's number in my cell phone, so I give him a call and he answers and I find out it was the house next door to them and everybody is fine.

Doggs,
I have an interview tomorrow at 830am with McDonalds, but I have an interview with a much better business at 11am. It isn't a time factor, but I don't know if this better place will even hire me.

Basically, What do I tell McDonalds if they want to hire me at the earlier interview?

Considering that after (I think) 90 days McD's gives you the option of health insurance benefits (as well as limited dental and optical), I'd say go for it. It isn't the most glorious of jobs, no, but they actually take surprisingly decent care of you.

I've never been to a job where they immediately hired you after the interview. Usually they call you after it. So, I wouldn't worry too much.

I have a job interview at a consultancy firm on Thursday, and it is my first job interview ever. I'm ridiculously shy normally, so this is scary stuff :/ I'm also a bit worried that they will ask about my relatively average/not-stellar grades (I have a few As and Bs, a few Ds and Es, but mostly Cs), and I don't know what to say, because the reason is that I haven't really been motivated to work a lot of the time and I have – from doing well without much effort in school earlier – pretty bad study habits :/ Not what I should say in a job interview, I guess. But it's not like I'm really lazy, I do what is required of me and when we have projects and things like that, I work hard and do reasonably well. I don't know what to say if I get questions about it :/ The thing I'm studying is pretty hard, too, so superb grades are probably not very common, but I don't know whether mine are below "good enough" or not.

I guess I should spend tomorrow thinking about answers to some common job interview questions and, if nothing else, at least it'll give me experience with a job interview? :/ But I need a relevant summer job, damnit, because they won't let me start writing my master thesis next spring if I don't have 6 weeks of relevant work experience. Jesus, I sort of want to start uni all over again, I don't feel like I am ready for any of this.

I've got a job interview tomorrow!!!!!!!!! *Cue happy dancing!*

I am so fucking excited!! Incredibly so! But it is at Hot Topic, and I'm not really sure what to wear to the interview.

My old boss died on the 4th and his funeral was today and I only just found out, and I don't exactly know how I'm supposed/allowed to feel right now.

I think its ok to feel sad about it. I stay in touch with a number of my old boss, and consider them friends. If one of them died, I'd be heartbroken.

Guys, my mom's response was somewhat the same. She suggested I wear my shortish plaid skirt with "bondage loops" on the belt loops that I typically only wear to the goth club. I know its Hot Topic, but I think I should still be professional.

I'm probably going to wear a dress that shows off both cephalopod tattoos, but is still classy. It goes just a bit past my knees, and isn't super low cut.

I'll leave in my lip ring, and won't make a huge attempt to cover up my microdermal, but I may take out my septum ring.

I wanna be professional, and classy, but also myself. I don't want to be "Hire me, my face is made of metal and my skin covered in ink." I want to be "Oh, I see you guys like body modifications too. Cool."

I have been scouring the internet for a Waffles.fm invite. I have failed so far. Ugh.

Of the 5 jobs I've interviewed for, all of them hired me at the end of the interview.

Also, emaline, bcause the look of the store is something unique, I think you should leave all your piercings in, but still dress somewhat professionally, that will show them "hey this is stuff that I leave in me" while also showing "but I know how to dress nicely."

Also, as far as the benefits thing with mcdonalds. I think this other job has benefits too. And probably better ones. I'd also make more money than at mcdonalds and not have to deal with the clientelle of mcdonalds.
