So yeah you guys, if you remember a while back, I was offered a chance to try weed with some dudes and I was considering it but denied in the end. I have since become really good friends with these dudes and they have continued their recreational use.
I am considering trying it with them this Saturday. To all of you people here who have done it or do do it, give me advice, do's/don'ts, whatnot, please.

don'ts

Don't drink the bong water.

Don't tip the bong back or you will accidentally drink the bong water.

And, to pass on the only piece of drug advice I ever heard my mother give: Don't smoke pot and drive.

Actually, the best tip I can give if you don't smoke pot regularily or if it's your first time is that it's really nice to have something to drink with you because if you inhale and it hurts/you cough it is easiest to solve by drinking something, also cottonmouth is pretty common so.

I always noticed that drinking fluids was best than food.

yeah basically you just need food and a drink and nothing to be sad about, as well as a mild source of entertainment, though that isn't really necessary

don't drive, i almost drove into the median once. um... don't let the smoke hit the back of your throat, but don't be upset if you don't feel anything because i have a couple friends who smoked on like fifteen different occasions before they were actually affected

go to the mediafire thread and dowload Raiders of the Lost Dub.

I'm sure someone will mention itthere but don't draw a full breath when hitting yr pot smoking device of choice.

Do try to enjoy yourself, if you get a proper high everything will feel different and awesome, even simply closing your eyes for a bit.

Don't freak out if you feel bad, you'll be fine after a while.

Don't befriend people with bob marley tshirts or rasta hats, they are the worst kind of stoners and stoners are already the dullest kind of people.

It's FINALLY getting NOT-Bone-chilling cold. It was freakin' 20 degrees last night !!! Now it's up to 25, and this makes me kinda happy.

Also, I may be spending another month in Canada, this Summer. Cool, yeah?

Dear guys

So yesterday we left for San Bernardino. Trip down was relatively uneventful, 'cept 2 blocks away from our destination we saw a head-on collision at a light, which kinda threw everything off for a few minutes. We arrived at the church around 6:30, halfway through the event, and 35 minutes before it was time for us to start playing. It normally takes me 30 minutes to plug in my guitar rig. I got it done in 20, which left me enough time to get out of the noisy area (a big task!) and tune my guitar. We never got a soundcheck, because apparently it's unprofessional to have your hosts be considerate of the fact that you drove for 6 goddamn hours each way just to play two songs. Fucking bullshit, it wouldn't have taken very long at all. They had two overhead mics for the choir, one for the vocal lead, the drums were the host church's drums (and they had two overhead mics and one for the bass drum), and all the instruments had direct line-in from the amps into the mixer. 5 fucking level sliders total. It was bullshit. Apparently we sounded amazing, but we wouldn't fuckin' know, we couldn't hear a thing over the monitors or the house speakers. Our drummers, being the gods among men that they are, were able to keep their tempo in their respective songs SO PERFECTLY that they were exactly on cue for every single thing on our backing track. And they couldn't hear anything over their headphone monitors. All they could hear was my amp because it was right next to the drum enclosure. So I was the only tempo reference they had. I couldn't hear the backing track whatsoever. But we got the best reception out of any group that night, and I personally got loads of recognition for playing the guitar. I could only respond, "Really? Thanks! I couldn't tell, I couldn't hear myself" when the sound guys themselves came up and congratulated us.

After all the musical guests were finished, it was time for all the musicians to go eat. At one point, the band and I were separated. And the crowd was something like 500 people. Problem? Not when you are the only non-black person in the entire building. My group and I were reunited in 30 seconds.

After the event was over, we packed up and pulled out to go to the hotel. It was great until we tried to check in and we realized we were at the wrong Western Inn & Suites. Then our keyboard player, who was driving the big-ass rental van, lost the keys for a half hour. Which led to hilarity. So we went to the other one which was 10 miles away.

Then this morning we went to downtown L.A. via South Central (we picked up our tenor's daughter from her house there), which was awesome. I was reminded how shitty it is that my iPod broke in January, 'cause I'd have killed to have been able to listen to Tupac while rolling through South Central. That'd have been fucking epic.

Then we dropped off our tenor's daughter, got on I5, and headed north. More road trip shenanigans ensued, including pranks on the pastor. Right around the time we passed Westley (around 9:40pm) we passed another traffic accident, this time between an 18-wheeler and a Mazda Miata. The front of the 18-wheeler was obliterated, and I can't even think of strong enough words to describe the destruction of the Miata. It was bad. Blood on the grass in the median, two full body bags, and one shaken-to-hell truck driver sitting on the side of the road talking to the CHP. I've never seen anything in the world like that.

Anyway, that's my weekend.

Love,
Me!

Because I usually read books at that time of day, I've taken great pains to find audiobook versions of as many of the books on my personal reading list, and listen to those while running!

This is a really good idea, and I probably will steal it this summer if not sooner.

Lately I have been talking a fair bit about looking at places to rent, and the places either not being that good or there being so many people there that it discourages me entirely to even contemplate applying. On saturday we went and looked at an apartment and it was basically just what we wanted within the limitation of price range, as what we really wanted was too expensive. Except there were about 40 people who also were looking at it and taking application forms, so we just got all mopey and went and looked at pretty furniture we couldn't buy instead.

Yesterday we had a private inspection of another apartment in the same building as the busy one on saturday. there was another lady there looking too, but we had all our forms filled out and other information, so we applied with the real estate dude after the lady left. We got a call today saying our applications have been accepted and we can get the keys on friday and move in from then.

Fuck Yeah.

That does look like a really nice place.

This next part is sad, if you don't want to read sad this is me letting you know so you can skip it!
my mommy's best friend and also a coworker-friend of mine from when i worked at the factory died today. she had a brain tumor but we went up to see her on saturday and she seemed better, much much better and she was like running around being fun and sue-like and giving really good hugs to us. so my mom calls and she is quiet, and my grandma is in the hospital too right now so first she says "i have bad news", and my heart drops, "it's not gramma. it's sue. she died" and then she started crying and it sucks because i really want to hug my mommy because it is HER BEST FRIEND who died. and there was nothing i could do. but i am going home to her funeral this weekend.

(Anthony's the real name, Dovey Dawg) Wait, I have to repeat "ha" or "ha ha" first? It's confusing.

NOT LIKE I WAS EVER THE PERSON YOU WOULD HAVE TALKED TO THERE OR ANYTHING, but they shoulda sent you to the credit report disputes department. i've seen that happen a few times, where something was showing on a credit report that i couldn't find in our system. i mean, shit, what, i never worked there

Armed with this information, I will try again tomorrow.

Guys, I made a curry for dinner, and I usually put a few peppers. Today I out in one(as in 1, singular, uno, un) poblano in, which according to wiki has a relatively low heat rating, but according to Whole Foods was somewhat high. When I put in the cauliflower, I got some of the sauce on my finger tips, so I licked it off. Now, I think I need a new tongue. Also, my lip piercing is burning now.

Hey I drive way safer when I am high! I find it literally impossible to exceed the speed limit.

This is true, when I'm high I'm going like 20 miles below the speed limit and freaking out at the unimaginable speeds of 35 mph.

Hi guys.

So, I was supposed to get support for housing, but it fell through? I think. I don't know, people aren't giving me details. It didn't work because I needed a diagnosis (a.k.a. their diagnosis) and because they hadn't diagnosed me with anything the case was closed. Or something. These things happen and I find out later.

Then it turns out I'm meeting with a woman tomorrow to talk about being put into an apartment of my own - as well as getting a job. This is...totally unexpected and totally awesome.

Oh, and my father made me get rid of the kitten. Now his girlfriend has it - the girlfriend whose room he sleeps in. Take that!
